DVD X-Copy Plat no longer backs up movie disks

Running X-Copy Platimnum 3.2.1.0. Recently built new computer (Atlon XP2600+ Win XPP), and re-used HP DVD300i and copy application.

The program appears to copy the DVD disks, but the application quits after reaching 100% copied.

When installing DVD into new PC, I made the error of saying yes to a new DVD firmware upgrade. Have downgraded the firmware to the oldest available at HP support site, but still no go on the application.

Has anyone encoutered a similar problem w/ this app? Does anyone have the original firmware for the HP DVD300i drive?
