321studios has officially closed down (according to their web site) so you won't be able to get it from them. You might be out of luck unless someone can lend you theirs.
In any case you can do the same thing (back up DVDs) with free software like DVD Shrink and DVD Decrypter ... do you have them?
Karen H.--Dell Optiplex GX240, P4 1.50ghz, 256mb RAM (yeah, I need more), Windows XP Pro w/SP1, 80gb c: drive (replaced the 20gb c: that crashed), 126gb i: drive, 124gb j: drive, 500gb external hard drive partitioned into k: and l: drives, Sony DDU1621/C1 DVD-ROM to rip/encode, Sony DRX-530UL to burn, new Sony DRX-840U to burn DL discs ... need a new computer to go with it!!

Sorry, I've never gotten that message so don't know what it's about. I'm not sure why the RF version would help though? I doubt it can open things that neither Shrink nor Decrypter can.
Some on these forums have suggested playing the DVD on your computer for a minute or two (e.g. in PowerDVD), then pausing it & starting Shrink or Decrypter. For some reason that sometimes works.
Can you give more details on your problem, e.g. when that message comes up (when you click "open disc" in Shrink?), what your system specs are, etc. It's always a good idea to give LOTS of info ... even if you don't think it's relevant, who knows, it might be.

I apologize in advance but I figured someone in this forum would know the answer to this. I bought a copy of DVD X Copy Platinum today and I dont know if it has the ripper or not. I do not want to open it and not have the ripper. Is there a way to tell the difference betweeen those that do and those that dont? Thx in advance

Do yourself a favor and just take it back ,then download DVD Shrink and if you have Nero your good to go, if you dont have Nero you can download dvd derypter from here also, shrink works with Nero or derypter to write all kinds of dvd's(i've only come across one it wouldn't burn)so far.If you like the xcopy platinum you can download DVD43 and patin coufin(not spelled right)(two small files that remove the copy right protection)But why spend good money for nothing besides dvd xcopy just went out of buisness

Nodiggity,
It doesn't matter if it has the ripper or not. But if your wondering any version up to v4.0.3.8 has the ripper (and the "dvd backup" warning screen). V4.0.4.15RF is the ripper free version, but with 321rip it becomes a ripper again (and you don't get the "dvd backup" screen.

What are you talking about? XCopy doesn't need DVD43.

Do a search on afterdawn for 321gone.
Last, 321studios just closed the doors. Hopefully all gets worked out, and we are able to still activate somehow. Will keep you posted.

Ok everybody, just finished my clean install on my other pc. Installed Platinum RF and GamesXCopy, was able to activate both.
I was able to save the activation code on a floppy, and activate it with that. I even blocked all traffic with my firewall, and the activation code was accepted and both programs work.

bbamx68,
To download RF, you would have had to get a new RF license. What help did the UK site offer?

I was able to download the RF version before the u.s. site went boom but my hard drive took a dump and I cant find the cd I burned it to.The uk site let me download any of the versions I wanted to but I guess they are not banning thier citizens from burning dvd's because they only have the ripper version.I've tried touse 321gone but that just says it cant find my download folder-i've tried setting up a folder but to no avail. It's very strange that two of the dvd's from the triligy burn with no problems, the third one(first movie) shrink say its encountered a problem and can't continue, improper file format.I could just burn it with xcopy but I really hate that warning screen.I just cant believe I can't find someone that downloaded the RF version.Thank you all for all your help so far

The link works. You must not have a RF license, so you cannot download RF from there.

I have the licence for the ripper version but I have downloaded the rf version from there, the thiefs at dvdxcopy must want to steal more money to download another version.Basicly they are screwing anyone that purchasedthe ripper software. What the hell they beat me out of my rebate so why not steal more from the american public.I paid $79.95 for my version,I cant get the 123gone to work with it either

Well I don't know about that, for me I had to request a RF license ... which I got for free. Try sending a request to these guys.
