I too have HP 200i DVD writer and I've been backing up DVd's for quiet sometime now. And all my back-ups DVD+R works fine with my standalone DVD Players including my PS2 without even using Bitsetter. All I do is I used IFOeditor and "Get VTS" sectors and then burn it. If your system of backing up still gives you problems, you may wanna try using IFOeditor instead of Bitsetter.
I think my standalone player might not be reading my DVD+R (hp dvd200i) disks because they're not finalized... I'm using MyDVD to burn my DVDs. Is there a program that will finalize a +R DVD? (I'm burning home-made MPEG files, not "ripped" files)
BitSetter does NOT work - when I put in a blank +R (or one I've written to) and click Check Settings I always get a "READ DVD STRUCTURE failed [etc..] "
Someone said their +R discs read fine in their standalone players so maybe I have to somehow just finalize the disc? If that's it, then apparently MyDVD does NOT do this when you burn +R's.
well, I really haven't done any home video conversions to DVD. But you are right that you have to finalized a Blank DVD+R disc in order to make it to your stand alone player. Are your Mpeg files in VOB file format? And have you tried using "NeroBurn" as your burning software?
I found the problem - it was MyDVD not finalizing DVD+R discs. So now I burn to +RW to make sure they turn out ok, then use HP's "RecordNow" software to copy it to +R, and this finalizes it when writing, and it works perfectly in my JVC standalone player. I just wish I could find a program that would see the +R is not finalized and give you the option to finalize it from like a pull-down menu or something. Then I could burn straight from MyDVD to +R. Anyway, thanks to all who replied!!
