'Joliet' setting in Nero 6

Can anyone tell me the purpose of the 'Joliet' tick box in the ISO tab of the DVD Video section in Nero 6 ?

The reason I ask is that I'm sure mine was checked and now its not and I can't re-check it for some reason. Will this effect copying ?

Well, if memory serves me right, the joliet is the proprietary Nero-style title for your volume. Don't use it, just use the Iso standard.

A number of StandAlone DVD Players have trouble playing a DVD where the naming scheme is Joliet.

However,users really wanted the flexibility of Joliet.

In older version of Nero, we allowed the user to choose between ISO or Joliet for their Naming Scheme. However, after increased Tech support calls due to compatibility, we chose to disable this option for DVD-Video creation.
