I get this message when trying to burn re-authored DVDr-s in Nero's UDF ISO mode "You have added DVD video content to a compilation type that will not result in a DVD-Video compliant disc. To create discs playable in standalone DVD-Video players, please use the DVD-Video compilation type"

I thought it was just me, but then I read this guide http://club.cdfreaks.com/lite/t-78987.html which said in Nero versions later than 6.0 this is a common error message and you should go ahead and burn anyway. However, that guide is the onlyplace I've seen the error mentioned, not many people seem to have an issue with it.

I have updated to the very latest version of Nero and still get the same message. I have been told that ISO UDF 1.02 is the most compatible and I want to use it instead of other ways of burning as I will be sending discs out to people. I need some advice ASAP (Don't wel all) as I have a few DVD-Rs on my hard drive and need to free disk space to do more.

Hi,

I'm not aware of any reason that ISO UDF 1.02 is any more compatible than the DVD VIDEO and quite the contrary in my opinion.

Countless people use the DVD Video option with perfectly acceptable results and zero compatibility problems that can be traced to using the DVD Video option.

Here is more information as it was posted on the Pinnacle website - it may help.

A standalone DVD player uses UDF (universal disk file) system to read ontent of the disk. Computers use more often ISO file system based disk.But a computer DVD player can read most of the time as well ISO as UDF based disks. Thats why most burner program burn a disk as well with UDF as ISO file info. For instance Nero does. Now there exist several versions of UDF. The version most compatible with especially older standalone player is version 1.02. Nero uses I believe version 1.5 is you choose UDF/ISO option to make a video DVD. If you choose UDF DVD in Nero you can choose the UDF version. I always choose UDF instead if vedie DVD in Nero and set UDF to version 1.2. The disk made in that way will play in almost every standalone player and PC DVD player

That's exactly the point I have seen made regarding compatibility. If you burn with ISO UDF1.02 it is back compatible with older standalone players.

Compatibility is the whole reason I want to burn with UDF 1.02 / ISO in Nero, but I can't get my head round this error message and why I'm getting it.
