can anyone please help explaining how to insert logo on an mpeg file

Why would you want to? Most people find it extremely annoying to have a logo on the screen when they are watching a movie.

The "scene rules" pretty much ban this activity -- even "serious pirates" aren't using logos anymore (they simply add a short 5-15sec intro in beginning of the movie). But anyway, there are filters for VirtualDub that can do this, try google'ing for logo filter or something.

And there's also another good reason for NOT having logos in video -- the logo contrast to the original picture is great and thus MPEG encoding (whether MPEG-1, 2 or 4) has to spend decent amount of additional bitrate just to cope with the contrast between logo and the movie area. And when you spend bitrate doing this, your overall video quality drops for the whole area.

You haven't created it, you've only ripped it.

Dont go with logo's man, they suck. If you feel the need to bolster your ego in such a way then why don't you put a nice intro on there with a picture of yourself and a caption underneath that reads "look at me, i ripped a movie..man i'm cool".
