I have installed the Matrix Infinity green dot on my GH-051-32 but it did not power on. We've removed the modchip and the ps2 still won't power on. We followed the GH-051-02 diagrams, but it could be that the GH-051-02 and 051-32 are not the same layouts and we've fried the board somehow. All the solder points looked clean and correct, but nothing. Any suggestions or common problems that people know of to check for?

Check fuses with a multimeter. Fuses are small. On the motherboard it is labled PS1,PS2,PS3,PS4..... and there are pointing or close to the fuse. There are different size fuses. As with diagram...idk...it might be the right diagram...but PS2 modchips are a pain to install. Most people will probably have a hard time.

Hello everyone, Can someone help me figure something out?
I have a V4 Ps2, and I'm having a really hard time trying to figure out if I should go with a DMS4 OR the matrix infinity green dot chip...been reading a bunch of posts and opinions seem spilt...
Does anyone know what each chip can do that the other one cannot do? Which one is more future proof? Considering the PS2 is being slowly phased out in light of the PS3 that is probably not the most important feature....but what IS different between these two chips? (not counting installation as I will be having the install done somewhere...)
My primary interests in order of importance is:
1. Playing PS2 and PSX backups, reliability/ease of burn process for the mod to play accurately.
2. Playing (region free) dvd's and dvd backups.
3. Playing emulators and being able to load/play the roms from a dvd.
4. PS2 and PSX Imports would be nice!
5. Anything else!
Thanks!

3 good chips are the DMS, Matrix, Crystal Chip. there are other good chips also. DMS4 SE Pro has features built in for hard drive support.(nothing the matrix or crystal cant do without proper software) Matrix chips seem to have a better build and is stronger. Crystal chip (hacked firmware) have options to auto patch DNA$ which makes online play eaiser. If u dont have the Crystal Chip u can still play online with a DNAS ID (some numbers can be found on the net) and a program to inject those number in the image file before burning. All three of these chips support all of your 4 features. As for future proff... I would choose either the Crystal Chip or the Matrix. The DMS 4 Pro SE dont have any more firmware support (been a lil over a year and havent heard anything about it) and there fourms are full of spam and i dont think they really care. The Matrix and Crystal Chip had some newer version of their chips and have better support.

I really appreciate the time you took to explain all of that...It's between the Matrix and Crystal now as far as I'm concerned (I saw the DMS forums...sad state of affairs...)
I'm gonna try to do more research between the Crystal and Matrix, maybe fine a quality review or even better a Vs. type review....I guess it comes down to if the CRYSTAL auto-dna$ patching is very effective/useful or not....if it isn't a great time saver or makes the whole process a lot easier, etc...then I'll go with the better built matrix chip...
Thanks again!

I wish to get my 9 yr old neighbour's PS2 (model SCPH 75002) chipped as a gift so he can play his games that were purchased overseas, but I am unsure what mod chip to get. Can some one please advise me?
Also I have a v.7 PS2, which I also want to get chipped. Do I also need to have the laser fixed, and if so how do I do that?

Unfortunately, you'll have to wait. There's no official wiring diagrams for modding a v15 PS2. At least, not to my knowledge.
My PSP's life: (TA-086 Mobo) 2.71 => 1.5 => 3.03OE-C => 3.10 OE-A' => 3.40 OE-A.

@cmmarsha1
SCPH 75002= PALv14
there are plenty of wiring digrams for a v14
and v12 and v13 are the anly two that need a laser fix for the slim ps2, v7 i am not sure but i think it is ok

V12, V9/V10 only needs laser fix. And as for which chip. If u read 2 post above yours that will talk about the good chips. but those are like 50-60$ each. Clone chips are much cheaper (approx. 20$) like Mobo, Duo3, Xeno,... I havent really tried most of those but i have heard some of the chips arent really good at booting backups/oversea games and need some reboot. Also modding PS2 are a pain in the ass, most people have a really hard time modding their ps2 even ppl who had solder before. But PS2 slim are a bit eaiser. Solderless chips arent really good either, ppl have also screw up there ps2 with them. Swap Magic is kinda like a Cheat device(action replay, code breaker) but u have to make the PS2 think the disk tray is closed, by using a tool. There ahassle having to put it in every time u load a game. Swap magic can play backups but im not sure about oversea games. Well, I have heard the M3 (20$) mod is a alright chip, i remembering trying out the Mobo chip...that was alright too...but i dont know if it supports V14

Only thing left you can do is sell it or solder that part, or look for a replacement part.
http://www.mod-chip.com/en/ezi_parts.php
Wait...nvm that part is different, tha part is for the older version of EZI maybe could ask if they have newer ones...

if i had an extra i'd send it to ya. i can order one from modchip.com (france) but then i'd have to charge you. however, next time use a single drop of crazy glu or super glue. it works great... I've gone mod crazy since the no solder versions. they work great without all the mag glass and soldering. just be careful if you take em off.. they like to bend shit. they bend shit putting them on too if you're not careful. i've already done that once, had to buy a new ps2 for my wife... she wasn't happy.

To most people don't know how to solder:
Google a place on the internet. They will help you for a small fee. Most people charge $35.00 or more. Once place I know do it for $30.00 too.
If it is too much trouble, buy a pre-modded PS2 console. Google that one too. There's a ton of people doing it. Plus, you don't have to worry about not working and what chip because when the professional are doing it, they do it right. Some warranty in that department too. Where you doi it your self, Oops! Oops! Too Bad!!
When you buy a Pre-modded one, you can sell your good ps2 back on Ebay and you'll be all set. I saw some Pre-Modded Ps2 as low as $125.00 too. Keep digging and you will find it. Some place even trade your ps2 for a discounted price and with a Modded console.
You have to dig and dig. Ask questions at some independence modders who is trying to sell their items as a hobby. People with a business will charge higher.
Good luck and happy Google!

Hi,
I bought a NTSC Slim PS2 from HK chipped with a Matrix Infinity chip for use in AUS. It will play NTSC games fine but plays PAL games in black and white. My TV is PAL-B so i'm not sure whether or not to buy a PAL-NTSC Converter or not. Anyone have any ideas. Thanks in advance.

Well, first thing are u sure your chip is a real Matrix chip because there are a lot of fake ones out there. If u have upgraded the software(bios) then it might be a real chip. If u are not sure a upgrade could destroy your chip. Also Matrix chip support PAL-NTSC, NTSC-PAL. check the config menu
Entering Configuration Menu:
"To enter the configuration menu press TRIANGLE + CIRCLE during PS2 Boot Up"
I think u hold the buttons. Btw do not post pictures that have nothing to do with your question and avatar/image signature must be small because of fourm rules.
"2. An image-only signature should be less than 50kb in size, and be at most 500 pixels wide and 200 pixels tall. "

I have SCPH-77001 some websites say that this is v16. Is it right? Where can I find a diagram for Matrix Infinity Green Dot installation for this version?
