Ok, I got same big news. Basically, I'm able to play SNES roms on the cube!!!! It's really simple but here's what I did...
1: Watch this (it's pretty much what I followed, but I'll explain what I did anyway in this mega post lol): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jK9jG9Ddwjk
2: Download this--SNES9xGX 2.0 1b8--it's a "port of the popular PC emulator SNES9x for the SNES that runs on the 'Cube" (i uploaded it to my site): *clicky*
3: Unzip it and copy the file "snes9xGx201b8-sdslota.dol" onto the SD card.
4: Download some SNES ROMS to dump on the SD card. I found a lot of torrents of SNES ROMS on mininova.org, but here's a pack of 21 ROMS i uploaded to my site: *clicky*. --As you'll see, the SNES ROMS have a ".smc" extension at the end of the file names. You want that, or you can even have them individually as ".zip" files. Either way works, but having them as .zips takes a little longer for the SNES9xGX to run them since it has to unzip it to play it.
5: Once you have the SNES ROMS, make two folders on the SD card--first one titled "SNESROMS", second titled "SNESSAVE." Dump the ROMS into the "SNESROMS" folder.
6: Next, put your SD card into the adaptor into Memory Slot A and run SDMediaLauncher. At the SD card menu, click the file "snes9xGx201b8-sdslota.dol" that you copied earlier. --It'll bring you to the emulator menu. Click "Choose Game">"Load from SD Slot A". You'll see the ROMS that you dumped into the "SNESROMS" folder all listed there.
7: Click on whatever game you want to play! If you want to save your progress at anytime within one of the SNES games, toggle the C-stick on the controller left which will bring you to the emulator menu. Choose "Freeze Manager">"Freeze to MC (memory card) Slot B" (you should have your regular gamecube memory card in Slot B and the SDlauncher in Slot A). You can then return to your game and when you want to load your game save, toggle left to the menu again, choose "Freeze Manager">"Thaw from MC Slot B". You'll load right where you saved!
THERE U GO, GUYS!!! Lol hope it works for you guys too. I didn't need SDLoad or anything else for this to work. :D

And no, i haven't been able to. :/ I'll most likely just burn the .isos to discs, IMO, since i don't know any other way.

oh. lol. getting snes and the other emus for gc was easy. Just read the readme and made the correct folders for games, saves, etc. Now I'm just awaiting the day emu_kidid releases a wii64 emu that can run games at full speed. Looks like sd boot will never work with sdml unless he gets sdml himself and does the testing with it.

yep. genesis, nes, mame, etc. I just decided to get all the emus for gc. I wish sd boot supported sdml or sdload supported gcm files. That's really all i need to load. gcm files from a sd card.

ah cool. man, like i'm totally stuck on just the snes emu right now haha, it's HECKA tight. :D But i don't think that there is any way to load gcms from a card... :/ only if you burn them to discs.

hey do any of you know what media not reconized means?because gcos 1.5 is giving me the error.i know its not the ritek G04'S or the burner because i tried a dsic on my friends and it worked but then the second time it didnt...so do you guys think since that shows up i have to adjust the laser?because i think its because of that and also my gamecube using ninjashell gives the black screen of death so i guess i need to adjust the pot
but i wonder..my friends GC said disc read error and the first time i tried it(on gcos public beta)it worked...hmmmm i guess BOTH need laser adjusting
but anyways can one of you find out what that means?
THANKS

Laser POT Adjustment
This helped me play all my games. It makes the laser stronger so it reads your back-up copies much better.
I will only link to places so you are able to get the information better.
First you need to know how to take your Gamecube apart, by going here:
ModthatCubeWIKI
When on the site look on the left and find Guides and Tutorials and click on "Taking apart the cube"
When you learn how to take apart your gamecube, click on this link for step by step information on adjusting your POT.
POT Tutorial
This next link will tell you how much other users adjust their POT:
How much To Adjust
NOTE: Lower the number stronger the Laser
NOTE: The average for most system is 200 ohms
NOTE: The lower the Ohms, The lower the life of your laser
does that answer your question wiifreak?

OK MAJOR BREAKTHROUGH... for me at least. I found this site - http://www.rombomb.webs.com - signed up and downloaded a couple Gamecube ROMS (shrunk .gcms, like from 100MB-200MB). First I downloaded Crazy Taxi (http://www.megaupload.com/?d=32LQ3145), opened it with SDBoot, and noticed in the "info" that its a PAL region, thus its display on my TV was super jittery and screwed up. then, i downloaded Link-4 Swords Adventures (http://www.megaupload.com/?d=M9AQS8H0), saw that's its a NTSC region and when I booted it up it ran perfectly. I mean, no glitches or anything--like the real thing.
I'll let you know if any others work for me.

I just run SDBoot (sd-boot-0.4b7-A.dol) from my SD Card, then the menu screen shows up and recognizes my card in Slot A. The menu screen shows a folder i made called "GCGAMES" and lists the "link" .gcm game file I put in there (it's only 257MB because it's shrunk). Then I just select it and choose "boot."
Most .gcm files that I have are over 1 Gig, so it's either I get a bigger card or I try to shrink them. I tried using "GCM Utility v0.5" on a couple isos but i didn't work for some reason. I saw in this forum thread that it's probably because "You are using FAT32 as a file system and not NTFS. FAT32 has no compression option." In this pic it shows how to change to NTFS.

so you mean i have to format my sd card as ntfs? well my hd is ntfs already if thats what you were referring to. i could have sworn that the sd carad has to be in fat format.

No, sorry about confusing u. I checked and my HD is already formatted to NTFS already so that's not the prob. I think just the drive that you'd be compressing/shrinking .gcms/.isos needs to be in NTFS. I didn't do anything to my SD card. :/ you're right about it being in fat format.
And I think I was getting problems because the isos I was trying to shrink weren't "scene" releases (like properly ripped games).

Update: I shrunk a NTSC scene release of Ikaruga (by StarCube) down to like 250MB and got it up and RUNNING through SDBoot!!! The only thing is there's some static that comes in and out of my TV speakers, but everything else-gameplay & graphics work flawlessly. :O I tried the sound as mono & stereo but still got the partial static-y sound. Works ok though!
Update 2: shrunk NTSC scene rip of Alien Hominid (by MoonCube) down to 400MB and got it up and running too!! But not without some tweaking. A couple of the .gcms i've tried loading through SDBoot have asked "please insert game disc" like right after the loading screen. But right before i booted up, i replaced the sdml cd with just a regular GC disc (mario kart double dash for me) to like trick the cube and i got Alien Hominid running just fine. But apparently it has nasty streaming audio so i just had to disable the music in the options menu.

well something is wrong then. I made the GCGAMES folder on the root of the card. I put my gcm/iso files in it. I have sd boot slot a or b (depends on which slot i put it in) on the root. those are the oonly files I have. Boot it up lload it with sdml. When It says insert sd card i press a and then it says setting up sd card, then it flashes a red screen that says error:could not get file stats. So then I can move still but if I hit boot It gives me that error then it freezes. Am I supposed to have sort of disc in the cube or something?

Hmm, for me it sets up the card and it goes straight to the menu. I think the problem is definitely your card. :/

Update 3: Shrunk NTSC screne release of Luigi's Mansion, and I couldn't get it working. It only goes to the "Nintendo" screen and just freezes everytime.
Update 4: Shrunk PAL scene release of Ikaruga, and still can't get the video display mode right. The image is all over the place. :P
Update 5: Shrunk NTSC scene release of Wario World, and it runs flawlessly! Booted up with no prob. :O

Wha?? I used 3 different cards and same result on all. It can't seriously be the card? I used 1 gb pny sd card, 2 gb kingston microsd, and 2 gb sandisk sd card. If the almighty sandisk isn't working then it can't be the card.
