This happens when making an iso? Sounds like the the disk is scratched, and when it gets to those sectors, your laser cannot read the disk. Also, make sure in Decrypter, go to tools---->settings
Under iso read check the following
Create mds file
Remove ifo rc protection
Remove ifo rce protection
Then under CSS
check "I/O key exchange-->brute force"
If thats already done, sounds like the source disk is messed up.

Hey Guy's,
First time on the site, but I have been reading all the past post for a week. I have used the Swap magic v3.6 w/the slide key along with the DVD Decrypter, and Verbatim 16X DVD +R writing @ 4X speed and have had a great amount of success.The slide card was not as bad as I thought it would be and the backups were fine. Thank you so much for all your wisdom in making this process a simple one.

Yeah that sounds right, cos I tried a brand new ps2 game i just bought without a single scratch and it worked like magic. However, my ps2 can read the other game. If my computers dvd rom cant even back it up, how can my ps2 read it? I am gonna try and clean the disc, it dusnt even have any major scratches or anything. O well, thanks for your help anyways.

@bubbles
yeah sorry to hear that, try cleaning it with a lint free cloth or buy a gizmo to repair minor scratches if you are so inclined, hope it was just a mediocre game that you were not looking forward to playing :/
@FLgator
I for one appreciate your words....i have no clue who that was intended for, but being thanked is pretty rare around the forums. I commend you for taking the time to read and learn, and hope you have fun playing your backups :D

Well, some people may get confused even when reading the thread title and reading the instructions, it happens. It could be from the hype of having a free game, it could be from many things. I don't see how a migraine would come from it, you just need to accept that it happens.

It is pretty simple why it gives me a migraine....i run into the same lack of reading skills and people wanting something for nothing everywhere. Psp, ps2, xbox, and 360 forums....its always the same thing. You are entitled, as I, to react however you want, but im not a fan of the spoonfeeding mentality.
@bubbles

Hi guys,
I was just wondering, I have backed up all of my games now except for two now using DVD Decrypter. As soon as i try and backup my last two, it keeps putting these 'IOO' files onto my computer, instead of 'ISO'...I was just wondering, is this normal? Can someone tell me how to get it back to just having 'ISO' files as they are much easier to write onto a dvd. Thanks!

Hello everyone,
i had just been reading through some forums again and they say that (using DVD Decrypter this is, im not sure if any other programs do this as well) that if the image DVD Decrypter is trying to back-up and put on your computer is over 4GB, it will be automatically split up., as it is bigger than 4GB, therefore, creating two 'IOO' files instead of one 'ISO'. If you are like me and only want the 'ISO' files, here's what to do:
1) Open up DVD Decrypter.
2) Go to Tools/Settings...
3) Click on the tab 'ISO Read Mode'. In the file splitting drop-down arrow, click 'None' Then click 'Ok'.
This will disable DVD Decrypter from splitting up your 'ISO' files if they are over 4GB, which I think is a great idea. Please note however, I had to do it again (the steps) everytime i had a image over 4GB, you may have to as well. So hope I have helped some of you's out there. Cya!

hmm...i have always set the iso splitting setting on auto, and have never had an issue where Decrypter decides to split the iso into several parts. I will have to ask the true expert, Tokijin, why that happened to you. Either way im glad you have figured it out :) I like peeps like you, actually experimenting to find answers instead of constantly spamming the forums demanding to be spoonfed! Ill ask LS, er Tokijin possbile reasons for that, and get back to you ;)
EDIT
just curious, what was the setting before you changed it to none?

Im pretty sure it was on auto, however all i have to do is un-install DVD Decrypter, re-install it. That will tell me what I had it on originally, but otherwise im certain it was on 'auto'.I'm backing up Final Fantasy X right now and obviously being the huge game that it is, its going to be big. Like 4,490,400kbs big. As I had heard before on another forum, if a file is over 4GB it will split the ISO file into to IOO files...So yeah, anyways, get back to me about what Tokijin has to say, thanks heaps!

Okay, now Im having real trouble. Ok, these are my games:
1) NFS - Underground
2) NFS - Underground 2
3) Dragon Ball Z - Budokai 2
4) Final Fantasy X
5) Final Fantasy X-2
6) Kingdom Hearts
7) Kingdom Hearts 2
8) .hack//INFECTION
9) Final Fantasy XII
now, i have all of them backed up in a folder on my 250gb harddrive except 2 games - FFX and DBZ - Budokai 2. I've tried to back up both of those games in the same folder with all the other backed up games in there and it just wont do it. DVD Decrypter gets to about 93% (on both games) then all of a sudden i get this Windows error message saying:
"Not enough disk space"
or something similar. Now, I have an extra 190GB of storage left on that external HDD but no matter what I do, it keeps coming up with this message. I am going to try and uninstall DVD Decrypter,retry, or maybe use Alcohol 120%. Can anybody tell me how to set it on Alcohol 120% so that it makes ISO backups of your games instead of a MDS file backup, as I want it to backup an ISO file. I have tried going into settings and stuff but I just cant get it to work. Thankyou

Sorry i cant help you on that one, but i will pm Tok this and hopefully he can help you out a bit. I have no experience in using external HDD's and the intricacies that come with ripping a iso to one, but i will forward the problem to him and hopefully he will have an answer.

nah man that is a ligitamite question, and directly relates to making a working backup....hopefully we will work it out. Tok isnt online right now, but as soon as he is ill ask him what the deal is bubbles.
Please do remember, genuine questions are always encouraged. Most of us really are not a$$holes, we just get fed up when people, who obviously dont have the brain cells to read, ask a question that was answered 5 post before them.

Yes very good point. However svtstang do not worry as I have figure out why it is happening. I was trying to use Alcohol and it told me the FAT32 formatted HDD's cannot store files larger than 4GB, so that is why it was cutting out on 93%, as soon as it hit 4GB my HDD cut it out. Thanks so much for the help. Now all I have to do is use PartitionMagic 8 to convert my HDD to NTFS or something like that. Thanks heaps!
