This guy has similar problem like you. But he got error 13 instead. He did hotswap and reinstall msdash. But still error 13 shows up. I don't really know why.

So the rate to reinstall msdash with hotswap is 50/50.

i will try and put it on tomorrow morning for you!
question, if you take a say 40 gig hard drive, nothing on it, use slayers or xboxhdm hdd maker, and put it into a modded xbox, it should work right? i believe so!

error 21? pss easy fix... run aid or coldboot your exploitable game...
if no exploits are their anymore then hotswap it w/out eeprom ... xbox hq .com tut section

so what would you say to::trying to put a 80 gig in my xbox but gettin error 16 and trying to hotswipe and it ownt work cause i need the original backed up data off a stock hdd what do i do::

djchase : for what ur saying is , you want to softmod an xbox then upgrade the hd right? :D its very simple really and its less expnesive thne a chip and faster. Needed tools for a softmod 1 of the 3 exploitable games and the auction replay kit kit cost about $30 and the game $5-15 . if you really want to do the best then i suggest you go to the fourms on xbox hq ( and ill find you ) noting bad on this site but the resource is very low compared to the other site as we specialies in xbox only so we can get into really good details...
i can do hds for softmods as well no chips:D so their you have it a few answers

seen seen..i have the splinter cell along with the action replay and i moded the stock hdd but what im trying to say is that i wanna put the 80 gig in an mod it but first i have to deal with the stock hdd befor i go any further...so thats what im trying to get past...thats waht i need help with

ok thats good you softmoded your xbox retail hd , you need your eeprom.bin to lock then new hd and a dash to load . the reason why i mention to go to that website because the stuff i have over there is what is needed to softmod an xbox . where the stuff is not here . that goes for the tut's the files and the xboxhdm1.9
so i mean i can tell you what you need to do but im limited to alot of things here since their isnt much useful links or stuff .

lol you dont need my C and E .... messed up softmod files? i'v been their 2 yrs ago and i fixed it ... its all on that website www.xbox-hq.com really ill link to everything and before you know it you'll have a full working xbox even upgrade hd :D meet me their make a new thread and ill find you
( you dont need my C or E E is your personal info er i give you my eeprom.bin and you run into error code 06 C is the main dashboard to load up ... i have the latest build files on hq .

whats your profile name on hq ? what you need is to ftp first so that way you have a backup then from their you and me are going to re install fresh and re mod .... sounds like a long process but it isnt really . what exactly you feel that is kinda messed up on your xbox? further more lets continue on hq ... pm gus738 or make a thread under newbie sectition or softmod section :D ....
