@ thedrizz -- its in the top right hand corner of the ipodwizard. instead of updater choose ipod.
@ ipodgurly -- well... i don't have a clue as to what you could do (hey, that rymed) but you could try and put the ipod into disc mode (in itunes) then try it. dunno really... just a thought.

@ thedrizz -- if its the old nano (non metalic case) then you pick nano
if its the new one (aluminium [luminum] case) then i don't suppose you can mode that yet

Lethal B, Am I missing a step somewhere? I followed your steps, "All you have left to do, is simply connect your iPod to your PC and use the "Restore" feature on the Updater to rewrite the firmware with the modified version." Am I supposed to open IPod Updater 2005-11-17? If so when I do I get a message, "invalid iPod Service version" what does this mean?

@Thecraigc, sorry for the double post, I don't know how to change a post once it has been posted. Do you have a link to a more updated, updater. I thought 2005-11-17 was the most recent, but I'm just a newbie to this Ipod stuff. Thanks

@ godzilla -- go to itunes (itunes 7) (when the ipod is connected) and check what "software version" you have, then find out what umm... date thingy(?) that is. eg. 6-26-06 or whatever. then get a theme for that firmware.
NOTE: always ensure that the theme is for the correct updater
if the "software version" is 1.2 then you will need to write the theme directly to the ipod.
if the "software version" is 1.2 then you will need to get a theme that is 1.2.

well... first of all, you could desctibe what your actually doing.
secondaly, try looking in C: > program files > ipod > ( the updater you want )
BUT if your ipods firmware is 1.2 ( go to itunes when your ipod is plugged in and click on your ipod to see ) then you will need to apply the theme directly to the ipod
NOTE: ensure the theme is for the correct updater/firmware.

well, you get different firmwares on your ipod, so you need to get the theme for the correct firmware.
look back a few posts and you will see.
