Hi folks looking for a bit of help. I recently bought the m3 ds real (perfect bundle)for my daughters nds lite. I put the system folder on it. It runs the roms which i have downloaded. So thats grand. To save the games which button do you use on the console? I also copied moonshell onto it which i downloaded from the handheld link. I downloaded the full setup with the converter. I converted a file and it will play on it when i go through moonshell. When moonshell is loading the top screen is in english but the bottom screen flashes up in chinese. It plays on the top screen and if i press select it will change to the bottom screen but it has a screen with details sitting in front of the video (the details are half in english half in chinese). Is it possible to play it on the bottom screen? if not then thats ok. The screen with the details have an x in the top corner but when you click on it the bottom screen closes and it goes back to playing on the top.also when the film stops it goes back to the screen where the movie is listed but i cant exit out i have to reboot the ds. Does this happen for anyone else? also if i click into media on the main screen it brings me tru to a screen with gbalpha when i click on my video and select the video nothing happens. Just stays in the same menu and then if i go back to the gbalpha menu with my videos music etc icant get back to the (GM manager)main menu screen with nds have to reboot it. Should i not bother trying to play it this way and just use moonshell? These are just a few small problems im having with it, wondering if anyone ellse is having the same ones. Overall though im more than happy with it, the games i downloaded play fine the movie plays (after i learnt how to convert them) the mp3s play and it has an 8gb sdhc card. So there is loads of space. Hope someone can help thanks.

Well first of all is saving: upon booting a rom for the first time it should say no save file found creating new one, then every time after(unless you delete the file, the file will be in the nds folder or the folder with the games in which is I assume the nds one)then whilst playing the game just save as you would if it was a real game for example on MySims just press start and save, next time you boot it will load the save file for the game and boot then you choose the load option if there is one.
Moonshell plays .dpg files and because the program is made by a chinese person the program is chinese and hasn't been converted as far as I know. Also (this is as far as I know and I have tried a lot of things) you cannot remove the pop-ups on the bottom screen it must play on top, also dont bother skipping through movies using the bar that appears on the bottom screen because that seemes very difficult. Hold A and press Left or Right to Fastforward or rewind slightly quicker.
GBAlpha AKA MediaExtend is the default built in to M3R and cannot be changed(not unless they release new firmware) but the reason this wont play your movies is because this doesn't support the same file-type (.dpg is moonshell) this instead uses .dsm . A converter was released but it doesn't work because it wont accept any file that I have tried or as far as I know anyone else has tried. If you get the converter to work good luck( It is easy to find on google)
but here is a link anyway http://www.handheldsources.com/M3DS/Download_M3DSR.html
and another is
http://www.linfoxdomain.com/nintendo/ds/ this one is quite good.
To get back to GM press B a couple times until you are at the GBAlpha home screen and there should be an icon of some tools and pressing a on this opens a Menu of which two options are 'reboot' and 'turn off'.
hope this helped.
And as always I recommend DSOrganise it's like PDADS but alot better (like moonshell it must be run through MYCARD and needs a system folder of its own and must be on the root but after the first use it is dldi patched and can be put anywhere just remember where so you can navigate through mycard)
btw im 16 :P

right click create new folder rename nds move to sd card and put the games in there. to insainty. in short you need to make the games folder yourself and name it nds for nds games and gba for gba games
for the one asking where to buy \i bought two off amazon and they came fine ( not any problems like damage that others have gotten)
make sure the buyer has a positive rating.

Just to let you all know something that wasn't included in the guide that I think should (because its built-in to M3R) is how to skin the M3R GBAlpha(or Mediaextend I've heard it called)
the wallpaper of the homescreen must be called "DESKTOP.BMP"(to test this just copy your desktop from your skin folder)
each icon on the homescreen is called "ICON0.BMP" through to "ICON7.BMP"(7 icons obviously)
for the background of the file screen(where you see the system folder, the NDS folder etc. and you pick your file)it is called "FILEBACK.BMP"
the background for Ebooks is "TEXTBACK.BMP"
Every .BMP file can be a 256 rgb or 24 bitmap and must be a BMP file.
The startup and turnoff music can also be changed, it must be "STARTUP.MP3" and "TURNOFF.MP3"
After getting all these files copy them into the SYSTEM folder
NOT the skins folder go into Media extend choose the options icon(the tool like icon) choose skin and it should say "internal" and "/SYSTEM"
obviously choose system and the changes will be implemented
Another note is that mediaextend/GBAlpha supports .dpg files I haven't tested this but apparantly using the DPGENC.EXE converter that came with MOONSHELL09 will work( most people have used V1.71 if you find an old version let me know)
All the above information was found by goinng into help and information in mediaextend(the icon above the reboot settings icon)and i skimmed through the text.

AAAArrrrrrrgh.........
I sent my card back as I couldn't get it to work and they rang on Friday to say there was nothing wrong with it, but that I shouldn't have put my games into a folder, they had taken them out and it was working fine. Just got it back and......... yes you guessed it still doesn't work. I only bought my DS in October so surely it must be compatible?
I am so frustrated as when they rang on Friday I told them I had already tried them both in and out of folders, I don't know what to do now, any ideas?

The answer lies a few posts back in this thread. The M3 is not very well made - there are no pin guides which can lead to poor connection with the pins not lining up with the pads. Look closely at the pads on the M3, can you see faint contact marks where the pins have scraped against the pads? Are the scrapes very close to one side of the pads? If so, then that's a guide as to which way to move the miniature PCB to get a good contact. I messed with this problem for ages until I discovered the fix.

I downloaded Moonshell09 and have tried the encoder and then on my DS a file from youtube and from a download site both worked.
If you want to download Moonshell09 I hosted because I could only find it on a foreign site and it took me a while to even find the download.

Yes. The System and NDS folders need to be on the ROOT of the SD card.

I managed to get it working last night for a few minutes but as soon as I turned the console off it wouldn't load back up again. I had to press it into the ds so hard my fingers hurt, that surely can't be right? I tried it on my friends normal ds and it worked fine. There are no scratch marks at all on the contacts, but I see exactly what you mean now. If they sent me a new card out do you think that it would be any better or is it just that they don't work well with the DS lite?

THE M3 DS REAL CARD REQUIRES ONLY CERTAIN NAME BRAND MICROSD CARDS!!! I tried using a Crucial MicroSD card and it wouldn't work right - however, a SanDisk MicroSD card works without any problems. So if you can't get your M3 DS REAL card to work, try using SanDisk memory cards with it.
Apologies if this is a repost.

I have a 2GB MicroSD Crucial memory card and it will NOT work right. I occassionally get a language start-up screen, but then the system freezes. Once in a while I'll get the menu, but when I select ANY game, the system freezes. I was about to return the card and Support at RealHotStuff told me to try SanDisk (or Kingston) memory - AND IT WORKED! This is a real testimonial, I'm sure you'll get more after others read this.
Much to my disbelief I reformatted and tried the Crucial card again - and nothing. I'm sure there are others that have experienced the same thing. I have absolutely no freezing or reboots using SanDisk. I have read that others have issues with their System files and that they have to re-load them every-so-often, well I have some news for them, it's not the system files, it's the MicroSD memory card.
I do NOT work for SanDisk or hate Crucial - heck, my home computer has 4Gigs of Crucial memory. I will, however, be using my Crucial MicroSD card as a portable USB memory stick.
