Personnaly, I've had no problems so far with princo's dvd-r. The movies burned on them sure work fine in my settop dvd player. And it's just as good because in France, they're the cheapest available (around 6.5 US $ each).

I use Ulead DVD Movie Factory to burn DVD. I have never had a problem with the burning, but have never successfully played back a DVD on anything other than my A04 burner. I have used pioneer dvd-rw and verbatim dvd-rw media. Play back was tried on a standalone dvd player and a dvd-rom drive. I have read that dvd-rw must be finalized, but dont not see any options for this in Ulead DVD movie factory

Hi,
the problem is your stand alone dvd player,
not the rw/dvdr.
I have burned rewritable pioneer dvdr, with
ulead dvd factory, it plays in my 2 stand alone
players...1 is a bush multi region player
and the second is a pioneer portable player.

Ulead dvd factory closes the dvdr all by its self, so this wouldnt be a cause of your problem,

I have also burned cheap dvdr with the pioneer A03,and they also play.

But a friend of mine used one of my disks on his
hitachi dvd player, and it refused to load it,
so its the usual case of incompatibility, see if you can put one of your dvdr in a few friends
players.

The drawback i have noticed with ulead dvd movie
factory is that most of the movies are in sync with the audio for the 1st 10 minutes or so, the
goes out of sync after that point, all beit slightly.

if you also have this problem , use sonic dvdit
instead, this also has the benefit of letting you bring in mpeg 1 files for burning to dvdr,
which ulead move factory doesnt.

by the way the mpeg 1 files for use in sonic dvdit, dont have to be dvd compliant as such, i have put vcd files into it and it accepts them,
it then creates the video_ts folder for burning
with prassi ect.

hope this helps
regards
