Ritek G05's are a 8X disc and are known to have issues burning on some burners at certain speeds. Depending on your burner (dont remember which one you have) I bet your media is the problem. I burned a handful of G05s with my Pioneer A06 at 4X and my PS2 barely played them, then when they did it blew my PS2 up by toasting my LA chip. Luckily sony fixed it for free. Anyways moral of the story, buy G04s or Tayo Yudens. They are pretty good discs no matter your burner.

I've also burnt to sony dvd-r's and they haven't worked. I'm 99% certain it's a problem with the burner.

make sure that you do not have anything like DVD-Region free, or AnyDVD running while you rip. I made the mistake of ripping 2 games with AnyDVD running and when I tried using them I got the Not a Valid PS2 disk. Also it wouldnt hurt to clean your PS2 to aswell, could be dust or dirt on the laser.

Hey guys,
I need help, i'm having the same problems as Kelewan. I'm using swap magic 3.6 on a new v12 slim line ps2. I've got a samsung dvd burner it can burn both + and - dvdr media.
Every time i open the top and insert the burnt ps2 backup, it says not a valid ps2 disc. And won't load :( any ideas?
Greetings
Henk

You can try turning that little wheel inside your ps2! See if it works! I tried the same thing when my ps2 wasnt reading any discs, And It works good! No problems! There is a web site that has a lot of pictures, I will post it if I find it!

Hi Guys,
Thanks for replying, and yeah the computer scans it and sees that there is data on the dvd. I've updated my Samsung TS-H522U firmware to the US06 version. And i'm trying different media types, i've also tried different programs like Alcohol 120 and Nero and DVD Decrypter. But no effect untill now. Shame really seeing i've already been able to use about 12 dvd's for a coaster now ;)
Which wheel do you mean?

I'm using the swap magic 3.6 dvd version, i put the disc in, then i turn on the playstation. Then i let it all load, when the screen comes up with the options : 1) load program 2) Video Mode, i open the lid put the burnt dvd in and then press x but nothing happens :(
