Yer they are the best at that! but if they can copy GC games then imm sure they can copy anything!
If i was nintendo i would have made double sided mini DVD's (with the new scratch protection technology) where the games would be read of 2 sides at twice the speed,,,,DAM just imagine 2x 16x DVD!!!!!
thats like 48MB/s transfer (ok ok 25MB/s after doing the maths)
Like i said B4 in other threadz,,, games need fast transfer speeds!

they just need small intial boot screen, followed by background loading of the next logical button press. ALso larger cache, or temp storage locations to get the info faster, and not have to access as much.
BTW, if revo games are slightly larger than a DVD would it not seem weird to anyone that a regular DVD would fit in the slot then? And if it fits in the slot why wouldnt a backup work with the right mod chip installed? Most games DO NOT use all the space anyway. Unless they read the games backwards (meaning from the OUTSIDE - IN!). That may work. In fact thats what made GT4 take so long to crack. And even still you need a HDD in your ps2 to have a backup of it.

I like the way nintendo say that the REV can play CD's DVD's and Optical Disc. You know your a quality company when you have your own customized
optical device! but you cant beat Cartridges, they have it all, transfer speed, security, save games but they lack size, tho Nintendo says that
the Nintendo DS will have a storage capacity up to 1GB!!!!! Yes b**ches!
when the price of memory goes down we will beable to play huge ass games on our DS!!!

its versitile now, 1GB of most ram (not sure what type of ram DS games use) cost about cost (us) less then a new pair of nikes, im in england so thats like 50 pounds.
it dont cost much to produce 1GB of memory, maby 1/2 pound at the most.
give it 2 years and we will get games on our DS that are 128- 256MB easily!

wow... Well the topic of my discussion has changed quite a bit... Anyway i read through the thing and am glad that i created a discussion (other than the argument b4) But since the revolution is going to have a 20 gb hd how long do you think its going to take for a hacker to make emulators for the revolution that will be able to play any game thats downloaded from the internet???
just a thought

I guess i got a little late to this thread but anyway i was reading what stinky says and i find it very amussing how passionate he says downloading from a torrent site would be legal just because he owns the cd, just one little(pretty big actually) flaw on your theory.
Maybe you dont actually know how torrents or even law works because of this little thing:
people dont get sued for downloading things actually theyre sued because major downloading methods call it emule or torrents for an example, are designed like this:
you search for example for the mariah carey cd, after you find it you start downloading it, but you dont download it in a full chunk, its splitted in thousands of parts, so you start downloading the file, and after the first of thousand parts finishes you start downloading part number 2, maybe you knew how it works this far, but after finishing part 1 it immediatley becomes available for other users to download it from you making the sharing fair for every body and ther is where you take part on the really illegal part of the show, you are uploading copyrighted material to other users, and you have absolutely no right to do that even if you are a shareholder of the record company, just because you are making all the other shareholders lose money or in other words ju are braking the copyrights of every other shareholder, so im sorry to tell you:
YOU WHERE SOOOOOO WRONG

gradical,
I can see your point.
But if everybody that is downloading it also has a copy of the cd then its not illegal for them to own it either.
but thats not why I am replying...... so I knew how torrents work, but what you may (or may not) know is that certain torrents will allow you to dissable the upload function. Yes it cripples the whole system by doing that, but I am limited to how moch total upload and download I can do in one month. So I need to cap the upload so I can "download all my illegal content"
ANyway, I guess most of us have pre-conceived ideas about what is legal and what is not. I know when I buy a 50 pack of blank CD's there are royalties on those cd's going to the record companies for lost revenue. So they are being re-imbursed indirectly for any downloading and copying that I do anyway. Which is why in canada if you want it to be legal, just burn it to a blank cd and your covered (as far as the law here is concerned)

Not only cripples the whole system but also many trackers now ask you to register on the tracker so if you dont share at least a ratio of 1:1 by not uploading you`re going to get your self banned from the tracker.
Also just to add a little about illegal content im glad to say that im from mexico and we`re on the land of everything goes, its so cool cause our government doesnt even knows that you can download stuff from the internet, and those who knows havent even figured out how it works, and even if some of them would know and the RIAA or any other tried to push them to rule against it they have a delayed agenda of two years or so about laws of social security, taxes and so many things they would just kick in the face any senator or whoever dares to try to make another law that is no critical right now XD

currently in canada it is also legal to download copyright content as well as distribute it. The courts are throwing out any cases against users like they are "supposdly" doing in the US.
besides, before they had napster I used to just record hours of much music (canadian MTV) then go through it, find the songs I liked and copy them onto a tape. Muchmusic doesnt overdub with voices like the radio does, and the quality was much better. After I bought a mini disk polayer I would do the same thing and copy it to that.
Even now if they rule out downloading and somehow find a way to stop it, you always have satalite radio. WHats stopping you from recording that and making a CD based off that?
Also here you can go to the library and borrow the entire cd from MOST bands/groups and keep it for 1 week. WHos to say you dont rip a copy then take it back?? There are too many ways to get copies of illegal content around that I think the industry needs to find a way to adapt or get out of the way.
this is a lot of topic from this original thread though.

I read somewhere that there was going to be a 20 gb hd(one of the big sites) and plus how are you suposed to keep the old nintendo games on the system. And not a chance in hell will nintendo put the games on memory cards. If it doesnt have an internal hd then it will MOST DEFIANTLY have a hd add on. Nintendo would be stupid not to.
