well in DvdD there is only 1 film for sure at 6.5gig or i should say 1 batch of files at 6.5gig, not quite sure how they strung this dvd together, but i think the ifo file carries the info on both languages...
has anyone ripped and burnt this film yet? and did it play ok as is with no extra intervention needed? as dvd shrink may just see it as 2 but when ripped is one really?
let us know if anyone tried this rip/burn yet - thx...
edit
in dvd shrink make second film a STILL IMAGE and try that...
Put the flick into Clone for interests sake, and it will allow you to deselect the so-called Title 2, however it has no effect on the compression percent. Interestingly it shows T2 at roughly 14 chapters, and T1 roughly(memory) at 32, but the same time length.
I had a look at The Hulk in "Remake DVD" mode of Recode (embarrassingly, this is the first time I've tried this feature!) Have a look:I looked at Titles 1 and 2 in the preview window, and they both look the same. I may have been wrong about one being English and one being French (I didn't have access to speakers at the time, so I couldn't listen...ridiculous, I know...) but at least I know I'm not crazy...the movie is clearly on there twice, presumably to foil would-be copiers of the movie.
I finally resorted to trying out "Remake DVD" mode because I encountered the annoying merged titles phenomenon while trying to back up my precious Freaks and Geeks DVDs. They have 3 episodes per disc, and what I wanted to do was encode the first two episodes at 100% and the third episode and extras at max. compression on one disc, and then on another disc, encode the first two episodes at max. compression and everything else at 100%...this system worked well with another TV DVD set (I want to keep the menus working). No dice with Freaks and Geeks. It looks like I'll have to sacrifice the menus this time around. But this is a lengthy tangent.
Cheers, all!
EDIT: Incidentally, I just realized that Grain already showed Titles 1 & 2 above, both at 6,448 MB (which is physically impossible), and that this is exactly what ThePastor already said...it's some sort of "trick"...so I guess the lesson here is...there's nothing to be done about it.
