That's funny, when you go to the site, they say right on the front page, not compatible with 1.5.
"This is far more than just differently encoded video or audio files, every bit of the code has been compiled and encoded for the v2.00 firmware, and as such until a way to successfully load the v2.00 firmware without issue arrives, only those owning a v2.00 psp and a legitimate copy of the game, will be able to play GTA:LCS."

I'm not giving up my bookreader and homebrew for one game. I'm just gonna wait on a better solution. Hopefully this will tach sony and rockstar a lesson. People do use homebrew legally and right now I'm only supporting games that don't prevent homebrew.

just use a Firmware Loader. Try MPH Firmware Loader + 2.00 Firmware dump. It runs the 2.00 firmware, but when you reset your PSP it's 1.5 again.
Buggy tho, waiting for newer ver.
They should make a newer ver of UMD Emulator that can boot firmwares too.
I was told to change my sig so I did this.

JOHNOOO SAID HE WOULD TELL US HOW HE GOT GTA RUNNING ON THE PSP TOMORROW, WHICH IS TODAY, THE DAY AFTER YESTERDAY BUT BEFORE TOMORROW.
I LOOKED AT THE 2.0 FIRMWARE LAST NIGHT, AND IT SEEMS THAT THERE ARE A FEW SECURITY HITCHES THAT WILL NOT ALLOW ME TO EXTRACT ONLY THE CODECS SO I COULD MAKE A 1.5A BY CHANGING THE CODECS. I MAY BE WRONG BUT I THINK THE FILES ARE SOMEHOW CODED IN A WAY THAT YOU NEED ALL OF THE FILES PRESENT TO RUN THE CODECS IN 2.0. I'M NOT THAT GOOD WITH THIS STUFF, SO I MIGHT JUST STUFF A DIRTY SOCK IN MY OWN MOUTH AND WAIT FOR THE BIG BOYS TO COME UP WITH SOMETHING...YOSHIHIRO? HUMMA? WHO WILL WIN PSP HACKER OF THE YEAR? PLACE YOUR BETS..........

This was taken from psphacks.net about the MPH Firmware Loader;
Limitation :
He is not finished, bugs with somes prx loading.
For the moment, i have test with a 1.50 psp to load 1.00 firmware, it works but the version showed in the VSHELL still 1.50 and the psp crashes if i run an application.
Don't work for the 2.00 firmware because he uses a different encryption system.
Is there something I am missing?
Thanks,
R

OIC. Well from what I've been reading on the progress of getting it to load. Some people are saying it's a deeper problem than the codecs alone. I couldn't even begin to come up with a fix for it. I just want to play GTA without having to update and then downgrade everytime I want to read a book or something. It's all a pain.

OK, I'm trying to update to 2.0 and it's freezing on me. Maybe that's what you're talking about. I've tried updating from the disk and by downloading the update to the memory stick. When I launch the updater, I get a screen with no text. I can't do anything except press right or left (again all with no text). I'm trying to figure out a way to get it to work. GD this game is starting to be too much work.

nah i was talking about the firmware launcher.
but..... whilst on the topic, to ug back to 2.0 from a downgrade, the screen comes up blank. it just messes with the text, all the stuff will really still run, but you have to do it blind.....

Not sure if I read it somewhere or not, and I don't feel like wasteing my time with Google at the moment. But if your trying to update back to v2.0 from v1.50 and you, are having the 'Increadable Shrinking Text' problem. I'd ask you this question. Are you, were you running a Version Changer to report your PSP as a v1.51 / v1.52? I don't think v2.0 applies unless your dumb enough to try and install v2.50 on your PSP. Bye bye Homebrew!!
But, if you have reruning the Firmware Changer and reseting the PSPs' value back to v1.50 should fix this problem. I have tryed ueing the Firmware Changer from WAB. Seeing as it can't do Sh*t for me. As the things that actually need v2.0 installed, like the Browser, and the AVC-h.264 codec can not be emulated this way. Besides how many UMD's out there actually require you to update all the way to v2.0? besides GTA that is?

AFAIK; That's the only way to do it! Granted that S0NY will will make it as simple as that. PSP v2.0 is still dealable, However it's Game Over with PSP v2.01 & v2.50! For now at any rate!
The NA edition of GTA:LCS is in fact One of the First v2.0 UMD Game(s) to be released. However there's a rumor going 'round that since Europe was the Market that cracked v2.0 that, we'll all be treated to v2.01 or v2.50 on GTA:LCS. Thuss the current delay.
Well see. In anycase this Game will require you to have atleast PSP v2.0 Firmware installed. =(
Shame that it Homebrew apps like PSP Radio don't / won't work on v2.0. =(
Couse that's the only reall 'Killer App'! It kills no it Pwns the 2.0 Browser, it's that good! So long as I stay with-in range that is....
