Yeah man, only a few elf programs are gonna load with ARMAX off pendrive. A few more will load off cdr compiled for ARMAX (sounds weird, but true) - cdloader.elf is the most important of these.
Getting to grips with these concepts isn't easy, but i've wrote a bit on this page that should explain things quite well: http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/246159
If you use pendrive to install the MC exploit, it saves on making a cdr, however there are other pitfalls and remember, you'll need to know how to compile a .max file to uncrush the files off the pendrive, you can't just shove them on the pendrive and drag them across. Another pitfall is that the PS2 wants to make a new "Your System Configuration" file every time it's deleted off the MC card in slot 1. This means that if you try transfering a "Your System Configuration" file off ARMAX onto the MC, it wont let you do it because it wont overwrite. - I plan to write a new thread explaining how you can overcome all these problems in a step-by-step guide to installing a MC exploit with Action Replay Max. - just need to get round to it!
At the moment though, installing with a compiled "exploit disc" through cdloader.elf loaded off a cdr on ARMAX is the simplest --> you only need to do it once and require only one cdr!

And by the way, ARMAX is NOT a wasted buy. Even if you ignore the 30,000+ cheats on there and the media player, you can use it to load backups (dvd and cds)... Action Replay 2 hasn't got anywhere near the capability of this beast. Ok, it stops the disc spinning and you can use your slide tool from there, but this is extremely ineffective. You can get ARMAX to boot cdloader.elf which will stop the disc spinning for the same purpose. This can install your MC exploit and after then all your .elf files are loadable off the MC by booting to a cool menu once you put a ps1 trigger disc in your ps2 - much faster!
ARMAX has all the power, and is cheap. Action Replay 2 is weak and can not load megadrive games without burning a cdr and doing the swap trick. Megadrive games can run off a portable pendrive on ARMAX, no competition! ;-)

Wait, so the exploit deletes your game saves?
EDIT: I just tried loading CDLoader off the pendrive and it didn't work, it just went to a black screen. Why did that happen?

Nah man, the exploit WILL NOT delete your game saves at all!. The idea is that a file called Your System Configuration is put on your memory card automatically by your ps2. It's a small file usually 4KB or so. This file does not relate to your game saves in any way.
The "trigger" to boot to a "launcher program/elf" rather than your ps1 game is stored in the file "Your System Configuration". In order to put this trigger in the file, you need to replace it with the one on your exploit installer. Once your mc exploit is installed, the file can be several MBs in size, depending on how many .elfs you want to put on there.
Also, as i said on one of my previous posts, "more .elf files will run off cdr than off pendrive". Cdloader is one of them! - it wont load off pendrive cos it looks for a reference to "cd", which isn't there if your loading off pendrive. You need to compile a cdr with cdloader.elf on it - using Max Media Creator on your pc. This will work if you have version 7.5 of the cdloader - get it from here to make sure it's the right one:

And about the original post here, in order to access Roms for the SNES emulator, you need to use slide tool or flip top - simple as that.
The Snes emulator looks at the directory of the cd drive for ROMs only if it thinks a valid ps2 disc is in there --> so you need to fool it by using the slide tool and swapping for your cdr full of ROMS, then pick which one you want to load. Here's the full guide to loading ROMs on SNES_EMU:
http://snes-station.gamebase.ca/files/snes_cd_020.pdf
The SNES_Station website is:
http://snes-station.gamebase.ca/index.htm
I don't know anything about the white cog on newer ps2s, but i know people that use the slide tool no problem on their slimline - maybe some other members on here can give advice about the slide tool with slimline ps2!?

No, I stated in the topic title that I have a chubby, and later on I stated that I can actually use a slidecard to move the white tab thingy. All I need now is to be able to run my SNES emulator right, but I don't know how to do that. I've loaded it using my ARMAX EVO and the USB Flash drive, but I don't know if the disc stops after that to allow me to swap discs.
If there's a little .ELF that I can load off my USB drive so I can just swap the discs to let SNES Station run off a CD that I burned it to, then tell me about it.
Thanks again.

Alright... I already did that. A long time ago. Now I need to get the CD to work properly. Does the disc stop spinning when you run SNES Station?\
EDIT: I got games to work by running SNES Station off my USB Drive and then swapping discs from ARMAX EVO to the burnt disc, but the problem now is that I can't control any games. They run, but if I press anything on the PS2 pad it won't do anything after I load the game. This sucks, because I see games like Contra 3: The Alien War and Super Mario All Stars working, the demos playing, and yet I can't play them because the controls are messed up. I'm pissed off right now, too, because I can't even go into the in-game menu and load another game or restart the emulator, so I have to load my ARMAX EVO disc and then try it again. There's no point now, I could try other discs, but they probably won't work. I'm going to try two other discs I burnt right now. If anyone can help me with this, please, do so. Thank you.

Did you configure the emulator to run with your controller? I have no idea if is this necessary with SNES Station, but most normal emulator's on PC require some configuring to play with a controller. If you can manipulate the controls at all, try getting to configuration, controller, etc.

SNES_EMU.elf is already pre-configured for the ps2 controller - i have no idea where you're going wrong in compiling the disc. I followed the instructions on that pdf and had no problem through the same method - can't help you there.

No - if it's the right version of cdloader.elf it will load to the disc swap screen. Get it the right elf file from here:
http://www.exploitstation.com/index.php?page=elfs
Once you've extracted the elf file, just load up max media creator, add the file and burn to cdr. It's worked for every ps2 i've tried it on --> let me know if this works - ur setup might be an exception! - they're would be a way round it ofcourse! ;-)

Did your burn the disc using Max Media Creator?
Now, if I were to use CDLoader, would that let me run SNES Station right? And has anyone gotten SNES Station to run right just by loading it off the PenDrive and then swapping the discs?
Thanks again.

Well, I wanted to know if CD Loader will let you run any .elf file rather than just letting it exploit your memory card. That way I could put a CD with CD Loader into my PS2 using the ARMAX EVO media player to load it, and then swap the discs with my compiled SNES Station CD. Would that run okay, or would I still need the exploit for something?

Well, yeah! - Cdloader will let you load a disc with elf files on it. If it can load your mc exploit installation elf file, then it can load any elf file this way!. The method for burning snes station to cdr will work with this method via swap trick.
If you want to run other files off cdr as if your cd drive is the memory card (like a cdr-exploit :p), then use the independence comiler program (by aus digital) to compile your cd and select "installer only? = NO", this means instead of booting to the installation screen when you put your cdr in through cdloader, it will boot to a menu where you can access all your elf files and indeed install these at this point if you want, or just load them from there!
A good thing about doing this is that for people with slimline ps2 you have a way of loading all your elf files, overcoming the problem of mc-exploit not usually working on this system. - it's a bit of a time-consuming idea though - loading ARMAX media player, putting in cdloader off cdr, swapping your discs and then selecting your elf file - but it works if you can't do the mc exploit.
Hope that makes sense
~Peace~

Well, what I was thinking of doing is I would burn CDLOADER.ELF to a CD-R using the MAX Media Creator and run it using the MAX Media Player in my ARMAX EVO. Then I would swap the disc with my SNES Station CD and play from there. Would that work?

Yeah, that'd work. You need another step in that procedure though -that is putting your armax cd back in the disc drive after loading cdloader, this would be recognised as an official ps2 cd game and THEN swap for your snes station cdr.

Alright, sorry to be a little paranoid here, but I'm just making sure. I only have one CD-R left.
Okay, What I would do is simply download CDLOADER.ELF, and then burn it to this CD-R using MAX Media Creator right after downloading, right? Then I'd go to the media player in my ARMAX and put in the CD with CDLOADER.ELF and run it. After that, I'd press the eject button and put my ARMAX CD back in so it's recognized as a PS2 CD game. Then I'd swap that with my SNES Station CD, and it would run my games perfectly, right? If anyone has done this, please confirm that what I would do is the right way to do it.
Thanks again.
EDIT: Oh, and, what about CogSwap? If I were to burn that to a CD using the MAX Media Creator and run that using the MAX Media Player on my ARMAX EVO, would that allow me to run SNES Station?
I just got ten CD-Rs, so I'm going to try what was my last one to burn CDLOADER using MAX Media Creator. Bah, 700 MB discs wasted on a few kilobytes. Or, hopefully not wasted.
EDIT 2: I just tried burning CDLOADER to a CD-R using the MAX Media Creator. When I load it in the MAX Media Player, it freezes at a black screen, just what I always fear. CogSwap is next, if this doesn't work, I'm going to need good instructions on how to use CDLOADER correctly like this, or how to use the Memory Card Exploit exactly so I can run SNES Station with it.

COGSWAP.ELF has failed me. Someone please write or help me find instructions on how to burn and use either CDLoader or CogSwap with the AR MAX EVO media player.

Man, there are a million posts on here about this already! - try search for all posts by me and you'll find tonnes of info about this.
COGSWAP.elf WILL NOT LOAD ON ARMAX DIRECTLY OFF PENDRIVE OR CDR! - the only way it will is through the mc exploit or by loading cdloader.elf first off cdr through armax (has to be version 1).
Your SNES_station disc will load through cdloader (v1). Send me your email address by PM and i'll send you my cue/img files to burn to cdr for ARMAX... this will have the right version of cdloader.elf on it.

so what your saying is.....cd loader will solve the problem of snes station not being able to see roms?
i can get snes station to boot, but not get it to read roms on disc(even while burning it with action replay's media player)
