Yeah, sly's right as usual...thanks sly for correcting me :)
Sorry about that, my memory is playing tricks on me today, LOL.
I'm not sure how you go about doing dvd rips, I don't use them myself.. but you'd definitely need to get some 90 min cd's to put them on if that's the filesize.
good luck with it

Okay, first question... have you got the magic keys or slimtools or something to go with the ps2 and swap magic? if not, you definitely need to get them... a store bought ps2 with swap magic will not play copied games without having some tools installed in the ps2. what is the model number? it begins something like SCHP7?????
When you have that done, then you will be able to play the copied games if you've burned them correctly... buy good high quality discs such as Taiyo yuden, Verbatim, Ritek, Maxell, sony and i'd recommend that you get dvd-r discs because they seem to have more compatability with ps2's.
Now, to the id utility disc.. yes you get a rar/zip file when you download it... then when you extract it to another folder you will have 2 files a .bin and a .cue - Either use dvd decrypter(yes it will burn cd's, but not read them) and select the .bin file as the source file and burn at 16x or 24x... or use another burning program like nero in "burn image to disc" mode, but select the .cue file... any burning program should work to burn that to disc as long as it's in image burn mode.

See details Slim Ps2 Flip Top
The PSTwo flip top cover allows you to play PS2 original, purchased game back-ups with the Swap Magic PS2 Boot Discs. This is performed by swapping the store-bought (original) Swap Magic Disc with your PS2 original, purchased game back-ups by lifting the flip top lid.
PStwo Flip Top Cover - ...
so if this is all that i need i now understand how to make the disc id utility and also how to input the numbers.so thaks for your reply hope you and your family have a great and safe xmas and new year and also to all the member here at this great site

Nope you have everything you need.. it's just a bit confusing sometimes because people don't mention that they have a replacement fliptop for their ps2 slim :)
If you have the disc ID utility on cd now, then that is all you need to get the DNA$ codes.. you put the swap magic cd in, then the disc ID utility... then put in the ps2 game (either cd or dvd) that you want to get the DNA$ codes from.. simple as that.
Then you have to use the patching program to put the DNA$ into the backup iso and burn it to disc... that's only for online playable games though, if it's not online playable then you don't need to do that ok?
Just to clear something up here too... ps2 games can be either cd or dvd, that's why you have the swap magic cd and dvd.. although most games are dvd, occassionally they'll release a game on cd such as killer7,lego star wars and PTOiV. You can't play ps1 backups in the ps2 without more software, I believe this is the breaker pro software, although I haven't got ot used it myself. Most ps1 originals will play in the ps2 without any mods.
Good luck with all that, I'll be happy to try and help you if you have any more queries/problems in the future.
Thankyou for the well wishes for xmas.. I hope the same for you and yours :)
Happy xmas, I hope your son's pleased with the gift... i'm sure he will be :)

D*mn straight it does!
btw, I own the BreakerPro v1.1, and yes it does play _ALL_ PS1 backups. Some games (like Legend of Drag00n) require a fix because of protection. 95%+ of games will play right from the CD. Just burn your CD media as slow as possible (nero or DVD Decrypter...yes DVD Decrypter WRITES cds, but does *not* read from them) and then put BreakerPro in before the game. You can play PAL (Europe) or NTSC (U.S. or Japan) games on it. The disc has an anti-mod killer option, but most games don't need it. You press X on the control pad to stop the BreakerPro from spinning, take it out, pop in PS1 game, then press X. It boots...simple!
One more thing... you'll need either a slide tool (for V10 or lower systems) OR a fliptop/magic keys/magic switch/tape + tissue mod in order to make the PS2 not see you swapping out the PS1 games. Think of BreakerPro as the SwapMagic of PS1 games= That's because it is. Good luck.

Damn, sorry about that... I must have been rushing when I posted to you before..
In another post I did though it did say Quote: What files did you get? and how big are they?
You normally get a cue and bin file from a cd.. if you got a bin file then yes just use DVD Decrypter to burn that.
With DVD Decrypter select the bin file.
If using nero's "burn image to disc", then select the cue file.
sorry again, but if you have a game or whatever in a folder on it's own and you're trying to burn it with a program.. just select whatever file shows up in the program you're using, cos it only looks for formats it can burn... does that make sense? for example, if you have a ps2 game in a folder and you're wanting to burn it with DVD Decrypter, it'll show both an .mds file and a .iso file... so you can use either one to burn the game.
Hope that helped...

Hi again,
I haven't got a slim, so can't say for certain.. but on the older ps2's the screws are located under little square tabs that push into the screw holes.. so you need a flat blade screwdriver to lever those up and the screws are under those.
These aren't very good instruction here:- http://www.modchipstore.com/files/images/v12disassembly-fliptop.jpg
But it gives you an idea.
Glad you got the utility disc burned ok.
