I've used quite a bit of different photo paper. The glossy makes my case covers better than original.It's a little thicker,but seems to hold up.Epson/Kodak/and staples.I'm on my second batch of staple's glossy.They were on sale last week and this week for $3.94 a 30 pack of glossy.After empty ink cartridge and the 50 pk of 4x6,a grand total of 95 cents!
I use 8.5 x 11 for my case covers.Those are identical to the original dvd cases.
When you download your cover from places like covers.to, Find the highest resolution and save picture as. I use windows picture/fax viewer to size them for me. Do not crop them.Leave them as they were downloaded. It should leave a little extra on the top/bottom/and a tad on both sides. Just trim off the excess and they should fit in the clear/outer pocket sleave perfect. Now it looks like my new version of Nero took over instead of windows picture/fax viewer.I'll have to tinker around with it.
Go for the glossy 8.5 x 11. The thinner,the better.
Some of the disc covers are disappointing if they are light.The dark ones turn out sweet. So I try to locate the darkest disc covers with the highest resolution.

Is there a place I can find 8 1/2 by 14 matte, or glossy paper,
to print on ?

why do you use to trim your covers?
I bought an Epson 320 last night at CompUSA's midnight madness sale.
$179.99 plus two $50 rebates, seems like a sweet printer for only $80. Of course, I will spend that much just on ink, does anyone know of a cheap place to get replacement cartridges?

I've enjoyed my ip4000 for over a year now, it's been an excellent printer for me. My photos prints have never looked better, I didn't know they discontinued it, that sucks.. Finally after a year my ink cartridges ran low so I found a sight that was selling the refills for $4.95, not bad at all!!
http://printpal.com/ for anyone that's interested....

I've been buying my ink for the Epson R200, from Abacus, for awhile now. I learned about that site from here, so I pass it along to others, when I can. :o)

@dabig25......
Yes, I saw it. I may give them a try sometime. When my money is tight as it's been lately, I'll go with what I know. When I get back to getting a paycheck, I'll try their ink, to see how it does.
Thanks for letting us know about it........... :o)

Gerry.........
Even if you never use the disc printing capabilities, the Epson "R" series printers are excellent for regular printing needs. Especially photos. They are photo printers. Having the 6 colors of ink, makes for very good looking pictures. The generic inks for them are cheap too.
Once you tried the disc printing, and saw the awesome job it does, you'd quit using the Sharpie........... :o)
