I havent played the 360 yet, Ive heard many good things about it, and bad. Should I wait for the PS3 release or just get the 360?

The web is full of people having a dig about product quality..OK so some have had a few problems but what would you rather have?..a repaired/patched up machine that you had to returned for repair..or a new one??
I have done a really extensive search and found that most of these reports are actually coming from about 80 original faulty returns..what's the percentage??? not a clue as I don't know how many have been sold..but probably less that 0.05% (standard failure rate on new electronic equipment/components)
I also noticed that the vast majority of the overheating issues seem to be in the US where the local power company is more likely to be responsible for dodgy power than the xbox being of faulty manufacture..as with all new things there is a settling down period..
I'd buy one tomorrow if I could afford to, knowing that if anything went wrong with the machine it would be replaced....no problems...

... Sorry about you guys who had the faulty 360 models. Send them back and get a new one and stop complaining. I myself do not have a faulty model. I have tested mine to the max for any of these faults, not that I would return it if I found one. I did find a minor one. After leaving my 360 on for about 12 hours, when I tried to switch games, I had to eject and close tray a few times so it could tell that it was a game and not a DVD. So stop saying that its the worse system ever just because your model has a few faults. ITS NOT THE WORSE SYSTEM EVER.

The only ones who hate the 360 either don't own one or they are Ps fanboys. I am sending mine back tonight it freezes on launch.Had no problems at all sunday turned it on monday and it did what yours was doing I couldn't change games without restarting then the system froze. That is why I bought the warranty.

heh yea i have a fualty system myself.
Overheats and literally melts my games, i dunno if u would call it melting but if i turn the game around u notice these wavy circles on the cd as if they were warped. By the time i noticed what was happening, messed up my pgr3 and pdz
No worries tho sent it out 2 days ago and Ms said they would replace my games as well. Even after all this, still gotta say i luv the system. Media Connect owns also ><

It seems to be alot quiter over here . I am starting to get upset with Ms they sent me a return box overnite(it took 4 days to get here)
with no return lable. I thik they are getting buried by all the crashes.

the return label should be blank and in the box along w/ everything you need to send it back, then you take it to a DHL location (not just a drop box, but a service counter) and fill in all the required information. but the taking 4 days to get there may not be M$'s fault, it could be DHL's. don't forget it's still holiday season just because the actual holiday is over doesn't mean UPS/FED/DHL are done getting/delivering holiday packages.
should have gotten a big rectangular box, w/ some cardboard packaging inside, a packaging seal, a reciept/return label. the package weight after being loaded is like 12 or 14lbs, and empty it's less then a lb.

I know , all I got was an empty box. Called MS and they are resending box with shiping lable.This one came ups. They said box should be here tomorrow.

sent out my console the 9th
they received it the 10th
they sent new one out the 11th
came back to me the 12th ><
heh, didnt expect to get it back that fast
that and when i sent it in, it said dont send it with anything else so i took off the harddrive, and when i got the new one, it came with a new hd as well. so now i have 2 hds ><

yeah i';ve heard of that, i left mine on and when i got the new unit it had a new HDD on it, i shoulda kept it on. they told me to send the HDD with it, but no controllers or anything just the unit and the cables and HDD.

well i prob wont trade it in at gamestop cause they will only give me 50 USD for it so its rather pointless. I guess ill just keep it. Altho i dont know how ppl filled up their hd already unless u rip your music from cds. Cause ive downloaded alot of demos, arcade games and videos aswell and i still have like half the hdd left. If i could copy my music from like an ipod or other portable device onto it then would fill up alot quicker. Till that time comes i dont see it filling up anytime soon.

this is funny.. even after all of you have problems, you still remain loyal. if i remember, someone said they returned a dead one and got a new one to have it overheat again. uhall, i remember you were all "omg 360 pwns it has no problmes." and a few weeks later you post a message and say "my 360 died but im getting it fixed." no probs huh? if you have such problems with something, why not wait for a second version? plus the 360 v1 is a beta, almost no testin was done prior to release. if you want a 360 you should wait for v2. im waiting for the ps3 and if it has problems at launch im gunna wait for its v2. how can one be so ignorant. if i had something die and me and the replacement act up again id get rid of it, and in this case, on ebay. i bet all those used game stores when they get 360 do just that, and maybe leave one in store. and seriously, why would someone play 700+ dollars for a console that sold at 400 and less if it has so many bugs in it?
But they all do sort of the same thing, and that is rearrange what you thought was real, and they remind you of the beauty of very simple things. You forget, because youre so busy going from a to z, that theres 24 letters in between... You turn on... tune in... and you drop out...
