I'm not that much of an XBOX or XBOX 360 fan, I just play it at my friends house. Not saying it's a crappy system, it just doesn't interest me enough to buy it. I heard PS3 will be able to run Windows, MAC, or Linux on it, that interests me, but that's not the only thing. Lol imagine playing Melty Blood REact on the PS3, that'd be sweet! :)

I dont understand why people expect the PS3 to be the greatest thing in the world.
The X360 has many problems, and it should. Microsoft is notorious for releasing things befor they're finished. They pumped so many out in a short amount of time and now some have hardware problems, and some bugs. But let me say this, most of the X360's out there are working 100% perfectly.
I just dont get why people are getting there hopes up so much for the PS3. i think that there is gonna be alot of delays and dissapointement.
Developers are having a hard time even programing on the PS3 CPU, and that CPU aint cheap for Sony to make, and it aint gonna be cheap for you to buy.
The "console" is being described as a Blue-Ray player more than a gameing console, its a way for them to be payed for making Blue-Ray more popular amoung people. There's no unified online service, so who knows whats gonna happen with that. And come on, you people cant seriously like that stupid controller.
I just dont understand why people are so willing to get into a fight over something they have never even seen or touched in REAL life.
This all reminds me of a religiouse war. My god is better! NO, mine is!

Not to mention the hype Sony is making about the PS3 sounds a lot like the hype Sony was making about the PS2. And everyone here knows that the PS2 came nowhere near what it was origionally said to be capable of.
If Sony delivers, the PS4 should have a gravity drive in it, and be able to send people back in time.

The Xbox 360 will be fine, Its no worse than any other console. If it wasn't Microsoft that Made the system, all the Ps3 fanboys might like it but MS has alot of enemys. The way I see it if you want to hate the company, fine, but don't hate a good system because of the maker .

i personally think threads like this really dont do any1 any good. if your really into gaming and can appreciate things, you and most any1 would acknowledge credit where its respectively due. with that being said the 360 is a nice system with some pretty impressive graphics, of which no one has seen its fulliest capabilities and not to mention one of the strongest launch line ups i have seen. however it is fair game to say there are bugs and some gliches with the system, but who wouldnt expect that. the only major problem i have with M$ is the way they went about launching the 360. some of the wrinkles could have possibly been ironed out had they taken more time, but i think M$ got a lil too caught up in the whole "console war" concept. face it, a few games werent even smooth when released which has lead to having to wait for patches to come out so people can finally enjoy the game the way it was meant to be. i think if it wasnt for the rush or early launch (however you look at it) developers could have also worked on some of the kinks that gameplayers have had to endure, but that is not the "360s" fault....its more or less M$ for releasing in my eyes premature. the 360 is a NICE product.
with all that said i do believe this is partly the reason behind Gates saying that he is fully supporting HALO3 launching not with PS3 but whenever the game is fully completed allowing for these kind of mistakes to be a thing of the past. finally delivering 360 owners something they can be proud of. maybe Gates realized its not all about the "console war."
sony i consider to still be sitting in a fairly comfortable position. for all the critics of delays and dissappoint dont forget to consider that SONY has not said the PS3 will release globally in spring, if anything they have kept there mouths shut unlike the past. Sony can still technically launch the ps3 in japan in JUNE!! and still be able to claim a spring time launch, BUT it would mean most anywhere else would not see the console for some time after (nov, dec, even 07!!). As of today sony has also not confirmed/denied a unified online gameplay and the developer guerilla has proclaimed that the PS3 is fairly acceptable to developer for and in a PSM magazine other developers actually find the challenge of developing quite exciting. games will release at substantial intervals.....
i do think any1 who says the 360 or WHEN the ps3 releases, that either console "sucks" is just being naive, unless of course if they both or one consele really does fall short of the bar, then its fair game

@ casper123, I said that's not the only thing that interests me about the PS3.
@ Logik666, I never said I wanted the PS3 to do more than play games, I pretty much said that the PS3 interests me more than the XBOX 360. Know why? Because since I've had my PS1, there were more games I liked on it compared to the other choices, and the same applies for the PS2. And after reading on the upcoming titles for the PS3, I will be getting that over the XBOX 360. So a conclusion can be drawn here: Sony's PlayStation 1 & 2 has had more games that I like over the other systems, which is why I will be getting a PS3
Quote: Yet again, people want there game consoles to do everything from making toast too microwavein there tv dinners.
Well if you would have read my post better (if you even read it at all), you would know that being able to install Windows, MAC, or Linux wasn't the only thing that interested me. Try talking out of your mouth for a change.

i had a ps2, i thought it was amazing until i played the Xbox 360 in a Game shop. I thought it was pretty amazing (graphics), so i sold my ps2 and bought a Xbox 360. I love my ps2 but obviously ps3 is not going to be released in the uk until end of 2006. So i have got my xbbox 360 for a mean while. as soon as the ps3 comes out i will selll my xbox and buy the ps3

ok ok. As far as PS2 having more games, thats 100% true. I just dont really care, im a quality over quantity type of person. Iv never owned a sony console, when PS1 was out i had N64. I liked Zelda, Perfect dark, james bond etc, over the PS spyro and crap. The PS2, I never liked it, when it came out i decided I was staying with my N64. Every time I hold one of those PS2 controllers i feel like imma break the damn thing.
Oh, and do you really believe that Sony is gonna enable the PS3 to have Windows, MAC, or Linux on it?! Do you know how rediculous that sounds? You need to start thinking with your brain for a change.
Now im not AS biast towards the X360 as i sound, at this point it just seems like the best choice. Based on the playstations history i really doubt im gonna be happy with it. (it aint out yet though, so we'll see.)
Nobody has seen a PS3 game in action yet, (i believe) just little movies, played on computers. I remember back at E3 they wouldnt even say if the game was in play or CG. I relly dont want to hear how the PS3 is the superior console, Sony SAYS its the best, do you think they're gonna say, "ya, its ok".
K, im done. Write back, i wanna see how your gonna defend a console that doesnt exist. well you cant, so your probably just gonna atack me.

i kinda agree with logick in the sence that i never liked the ps2 games as they were mostly crap and the only good ones for me were sequals from ps 1 which bored me, also i am a cumplusive buyer and normally i would buy somethinhg thats sounds like it has potential but honestly i really do not like the games, i will be buying nintendo rev and i already own an xbox 360.
P.S i am finding out new things about the xbox 360 dashboard everyday and now its so damm easy to get from one place to the next and do stuff that xbox could only dream of and thats only the dashboard.

I have to say when xbox 360 was released i avoided it like the plague. I wasnt interested at all. Even seeing people play it in dept stores. Hell I could have reserved 10 systems in early fall. but stupid me. So christmas comes and goes now i am seriously broke, but still have enough to pick me up an xbox 360, but nope still not bought in to the hype so i get a DS then I go to my sisters for new years i play xbox 360 and damn its awesome. Still I am still holding out for PS3 the after I hear news of PS3 in november 06 with a hefty price tag of 500 bucks i say screw it XBOX 360 time. So for a week endlessly looking for a 360 on ebay i decide lets give best buy a try "SOLDOUT" but i was lucky to have a best buy associate direct me and a buddy to the closest place where i can grab one. So i have had it for a week now with 2 games and i have to say I love it. I havent been into games like this in awhile. The graphics r great XBOX live works flawless and I just cant wait till new titles come out such as RE 5. But after PS3 and nintendo revolution release I am getting the revolution. 1 because i hear it will be cheaper and 2 its totally different from ps3 and 360

I'm really into my 360, but wtf is that Full Auto demo all about? That should never hve been put on there. When a lot is happening on screen it slows down to what appears 5fps.
I know it's only a demo, but it has totally put me off the game.

As I do not own an 360, I cannot make a statement on whether or not the system itself sucks. I really like the looks of it, and I've played COD 2 for about 5 mins so I got the feel for the controller. I've heard most 360's are running fine, and some aren't. I also read alot of stuff about how the graphics are pretty good. Well picture this, on the original xbox, take halo CE, remember the campaign and how cool the graphics were, you could actually zoom in at the grass and see the wind blowing it. The graphics were stunning. The our little friend halo 2 came out. Same system, but the graphics were amazing, especially compared to halo CE. So if you are looking the the current graphics of a game on the 360, keep in mind that sharp graphics and close attention to realism and detail is in the hands of the game developer as long at the 360's graphics card can handle it. If Atari re-released an exact replica of asteroids for the 360, I mean same exact game, the graphics wouldn't be any better. I'm just waiting for the bug exterminator for the 360's hardware or halo 3, whichever comes 1st.
