The name is a start. They have to come up with more than a catchy name. Gamecube does sound better than xbox but umm well gamecube didn't do that great

dude you seem to think i'm against a free market or open competition, which is anything but the case. However, I feel it's illogical to conclude that "copying and modifying those ideas is better". You're lecture is little more than a cause and effect relationship, in which case I would have to ask you what you think you would have without the cause? I don't know what you would have, but I know for sure what you WOULDN'T have: Progress
Business Economics mirrors Capitalism in many ways. And it is seen many times that having an idea and/or perfecting an idea are nice business plans.
However, trivializing the idea of originality and business to a primitive "survival of the fittest/tough luck that's how it goes" philosophy seems a bit unethical, even from a business standpoint.

I don't know bubsy's stance, but I believe in an open market. MS can get into the handheld if they so please. Anyone can make a console if they so please. Wouldn't it seem a little underhanded, though, If microsoft released a Dual Screen Handheld with a couple "new" modifications to the system? What if it was exactly like the PSP except the modifications were bigger storage and things along that nature? What if that system became the best seller?
That just seems a little underhanded to me, and it's a obviously a wide-shared opinion.

You can relax, Sony confirmed they have no plans to drop the price of the PS2 in the near future, so this rumor can be discarded.

haha wow, another post reduced to microsoft vs. playstation babble... WE ARE BETTER THAN THIS. im sick of the psII vs. xbox arguments. we should put aside our differences... c'mon guys lets all join hands for the sake of gaming*? wut do you say? ehh??
*as long as such gaming involves xbox games only, as they are better, and run on a better system. the psII sux... simple as that, i wont join anyones hand for the sake of a psII game... thats just rediculous. and as for gamecube... dont make me laugh.

That statement is wrong. If that were true Xbox wouldnt be in a hole for both X-box and 360
Xbox and obviously 360s graphics are better than ps2. But the buck stops there. Ps2 has better 3rd party gaming support.
Xbox has good titles but not as many good ones as ps2 nor are they better overall.
360s best selling game is Call of Duty of 2 and that is a multi console game.
2nd it would be nice if you watch how you put together your posts, cause posts like that start flame wars.
And back on topic
There is a rumor of a viewtiful joe launch game for revolution.. what you guys think?

Actually the idea of originality isn't all that important anymore. It's all about patents these days. Even if you made it first if someone else has the patent then you're screwed. And what's the point of just having an original idea and not being able to keep your business successful because "bad and evil" companies that stole their ideas and sold them better than they did.

Um... the whole idea of patents is to protect someone's idea from being stolen by someone else. Congratulations, you just figured out exactly what I'm trying to say here.
And I never described sony as "bad and evil". The closest thing I said was "underhanded".

Actually there are many cases where people simply patent things that are very general to sue the people who make things that do stuff close to the description of the patent. There are lots of cases like this. Most of the patents never even turn into products. I could patent something like "a device that lets you play music on the go" a few years ago and not do anything and claim money from the people who make mp3 players. It's not that hard to do things like that. And this is getting really pointless. We're never going to agree so why bother. And if patent help protect companies from having their ideas stolen then who has the patent for game consoles????? Nintendo????? Does everyone else have to pay them like 10% of their total sales every year??????

I'm glad you have been keeping in touch with the news and the "patent troll" term that everyone is name-dropping these days.
Patents were designed to protect people's ideas. It's really that simple. How people take advantage of the system doesn't change the reason as to why there are such things.
In order for something to be patented, it has to go through a process. No patent office would allow a patent for "video game console" because it is too broad, and if there was once a patent for that, then it ran out, because patents expire and/or can be purchased.
Ever hear of an idea of using a blue laser to read disks instead of a red one? That patent was once held by an individual, who is now very wealthy because it was purchased.

Good idea...
So... uh... did anyone see that "Dogfights" secial on last night on the history channel or discovery channel or whatever? it was pretty sweet. I was just thinking about if I was as good at dogfighting as I was in starcraft, I would definately be an "Ace".
edit** dogfighting of course is the term they use when airplanes fight. or jets. whatever. AIRFORCE BATTLES.
