Okay, I do a search and I found it, under an iPod folder. I go into iPod Wizard and I found it, under that same iPod folder. I click on it and press open and nothing happens. I exit that to see if it did something and I still can't choose the firmware or nothing. Any Suggestions? Thanks!

When you locate the firmware, you have to "left-click" it once, this will select it, then it will open with iPodWizard.

DJ - I want to make a few minor modifications to that theme before I send it to you, as when I played the games on it today, I noticed a few minor imperfections ;-)

Of Course, Buddy! ;-)
Ok, Here's more basic modding for newbies.
CHANGING THE FONTS
To part two of the endless modding tutorial, and here, I shall show ye great newbies how to change the font of your 5g iPod in 6 simple steps..
ONCE AGAIN, YOU WILL NEED
For this part of the tutorial, you'll need;
<1> A Fifth Gen iPod (iPod Video)
<2> iPodWizard. The latest version is v1.2, and the download can be found through this link - http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=153441 <3> iPod Firmware/Updater. I recommend you guys use version 1.0, as it is the most stable. The download of iPod Updater 2005-11-17 v1.0 can be found here - http://www.megaupload.com/?d=Y44N4BER <4> iHack - http://www.ipodwizard.net/attachment.php?attachmentid=3392&d=1127...
NOW TO BEGIN..
<1> Extract and load your iPodWizard Software.
<2> Click "Open Updater"
<3> Load the iPod Updater that your just downloaded. I recommend v1.0 (2005-11-17), but it should work with any other Updater.
<4> Under the "Firmware" menu, select your 5g iPod.
Once you have done that, click "Load".
CHANGING THE FONTS
Click on the Fonts tab
After you have done that, click 'OTF FONTS'
Now, change your index to 4
Now, click Make Font. You can choose from any of the fonts in the 'font' menu.
You can experiment here, but from what I have gathered through trial & error, you are best off keeping the writing Regular, and @ size 18. Once you have finally decided, click OK.
You will now notice that your chosen font has been incorporated into the index of fonts, like so..
As you may notice, I have chosen Comic SANS MS, but you can choose any style of font you desire.
Once you are done, you are ready to write them to ye iPod.
Click "Write" which is located at the very top in the center.
Once the confirmation that the changes you implemented were sucessfully written onto the updater, You can exit iPodWizard.
TRANSFER FONTS TO IPOD
All you have left to do, is simply connect your iPod to your PC and use the "Restore" feature on the Updater to rewrite the firmware with the modified version.
However, if you don?t want to "Restore" your iPod (Which deletes all content), You will have to patch the Updater with iHack
iHack will set the iPod?s firmware version a small amount below its current level before you run the iPod Software Updater, re-enabling the "Update" button. Open iHack (you will find it at C:/Program Files/iHack/ by default), and click the "Patch..." button while your iPod is connected to your PC and the disk mode feature is enabled. Select your iPod?s drive letter, and iHack will do the rest. Now click the "Update" button, and you will have successfully changed the fonts on your iPod.

Because if the whole thing is in one long tutorial, it can get very messy, disorganized, and intimidating to read. This is a step by step, so I intend to post each step one @ a time ;)

I'm still trying to do the Red tribal theme, but this is all great, I'm sure it is easier than I'm making it.
I pressed open when I selected the firmware then it said "Unable to open file code=126"

Try downloading 1.1.1, as I have tried it with that firmware & had no problems at all. There are no video playback issues to report thus far, and the volume control utility is totally optional.

I'm still kind of confused on how to put in already-created themes. I open the folder to it in iPod Wizard and the theme is not in the folder. Do you know why? Thanks!
Also, what firmware is the Red Tribal meant for? (the one that you posted in the original post) This is the one that I want to import onto my iPod, and I have already downloaded it.
-edit-
I did the one that's supposed to give you the percentage on the battery and it's all screwed up. The percentage isn't there, and none of the things such as the windows logos are there either. It looks like it just place random objects in random places almost. I don't know why. I restored it and everything (I chose to restore it rather than use iHack) and still, nothing. I even tried iHack and that kept it the same. Any suggestions?

OK jazo, lets get you started with this..
Enter the iPW forums, particularly the 5g theme forums
( http://www.ipodwizard.net/forumdisplay.php?f=94 )
Pick a theme that will work with your version of firmware (Most of the themes are labelled with the Updater they should be used with)
Then download the theme.
You will now have a .zip or .rar file containing X amount of bitmap images. Extract the archive using WinZIP or WinRAR, and then you will have a folder (a normal folder) which should subsequently contain your bitmap images. If, upon extraction, you have a whole bunch of loose bitmaps, then simply create a folder, and place them in there.
Then, in iPW, select 'load all', and locate the folder filled with bitmap images. This will change the graphics on your Updater to the modified ones. Click 'Write', and then restore/update your iPod.

Okay, I tried this, and It was just all screwy. Okay, I'm gonna try doing it all over again. I started from scratch again, and found the Red Tribal Folder. I clicked load all on that folder. In iPod wizard none of the new images are there, they are all the same as before I loaded the theme. Not sure what to do. Thanks for keeping me posted, It seems like such a pain in the a$$ to do this, but it's probably just me.

Jazo,
The v1.0 firmware has a total of 308 bmp's. If it has more, then it has been made for the v1.1 software, in which case, ye will have to use a certain program that converts 1.1 bmp's to 1.0 bmp's before you 'Load all'. That particular program is found (& explained) here
http://www.ipodwizard.net/showthread.php?t=6635
When you load a theme by clicking the 'Load all' button, just click the folder they are in, and they will all load.
[edit], here's my theme already loaded onto my (v1.0) Updater if anyone's interested in testing it..

I am running the v1.1.1 firmware, so that shouldn't be the problem. Sorry I'm such a pain in the a$$ to help, LOL.

Try using the 1.0 software, as there will be more pre-made themes for that. Download my version, linked above if you like, which is already modded.
All you do is download a theme for v1.0, extract into a folder then click 'load', and then 'write'. Keep posting if you are still stuck.

Lethal, would you be able to host the actual theme? It will let us make any minor modifications we'd like to make to it, such as changing the font, or possibly an image or two.

Lethal--
Is it your own theme that you created?
[edit] I finally figured it out. Its an awesome theme, Lethal! I'll probably keep this one for awhile now. Thanx soooo much for your help!

I was also wondering if there was a way to simply change the battery icon in that theme to the percentage icon, or is it too complicated? thanks again!
Cheers
