The Wii is........all black with a blue lcd. How lame is that. We are not talking about speakers or PC's here, we are talking game consoles. We are talking 3 main comapanies. Only 3 and these nimrods couldn't think of anything else?? I can see the board meeting now.......
Lets make it look like the PS2...........BRILLIANT!!!
Lets make our console sound ridiculously stupid...........BRILLIANT!!!
The main color of the Wii is featured in apple-esque White, so it really has fuckall to do with copying Sony, and more to do with offering the system in more than one color.
The genesis was all black too, but no one in their right minds would actually accuse a company of stealing a color, especially one as generic as black.
What an absolutely pathetic attempt to bash the Wii.
Theres a shitload of black electronic devices with blue lcd lights. In fact, I'm typing on a BLACK laptop rite now with BLUE lcd lights... maybe HP got jealous of sony and stole their design scheme thinking that I would buy this laptop b/c i like the ps2??? Personally I think the black with blue lcd is overused, and so is nintendo's apple-esce white and blue, and well now that I think about it so in the xbox's black and lime green, but in the end who really gives a crap? And if you do, then just buy some lcd's and a new skin/case for your console and shut up.
Anyways, Nintendo's consoles have always been portable and cheap, though usually lacking in online play. If they can pull off thier little innovation with a big enough online community, and actually make it fun, then I'd say Nintendo just might be back in the game. As for the Wii-motes pricing, think of it this way, your getting the console for half the price of it's rivals so even if the controllers are expensive it would be like buying a ps3 with one controller, versus buying a Wii with 4. Of course with all those different controller types nintendo is gunna have compatible with the Wii, the low price of the Wii might catch up to the other consoles for players who want the traditional control scheme.
And as for sports and multiplayer, I think developers will eventually find a way to make the Wii-mote work flawlessly with these. Just look at the raquet-ball and fishing multiplayer possibilities in this teaser: http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-7503797230984048423&q=re...
and that fly-swating game thing too I guess? lol looks like alot of fun multiplayer and sports possibilities in my opinion
For the online gaming argument - I wouldn't mind playing Mario Party/Golf/Soccer/Tennis/Kart/Everything over the net against people. Maybe they'd could make an MMORPG out of a Zelda game :D
