ok say I see it I need to hook up my power to the 360 and video cables right? then boot from my floppy right?

yeah...also connect sata...so its all the cables for the 360 and your floppy and ur xbox sata...

ok what does it exactly do?
try this
disconnect your xbox from your computer...load your comp...then wen it gets to the command prompt, reconnect the sata

ur most likely going to use the 183c one unless u have an ASUS mforce4 motherboard

ah ok, guess what...it was the damn floppy, I had to do some criminal accts to get another so hope the PO-lese dont come after me, lol
I don't have an ASUS mobo, I have a MSI K8N Neo2 Platinum so i guess it's the files from 183c I will use.
I will report back in 2 min.

I got a "No drive detected" after I typed "mtkflash r backup.bin" with out the "
what did I do wrong, my sata is connected to the mobo and 360 drive?

its on sata 1 and I still get nothing
My BIOS see's it as a third master and I have nothing else connected

did you make sure ur sata was enabled in the setup ...also that it isnt in raid...

Ok, I plugged in both my SATA HD and the SATA 360 drive, it then gave me 2 options.
1. NV nForce3 Pri Master
2. NV nForce3 Pri Slave
I chose 1.
it read,
Flash Type : "SST(SST39Sf020)
Reading.....Finished! DataSum 1496, OPCSum 0
>>> Please REBOOT your PC !
Did I do it right?

if your 360 was on the 1 it worked....YESSS!!!! u did it congrats

well I got some bad news, I now get a NTLDR is missing good thing I ghost my machine nightly.
Do I still need my sata connection?

for now no but later yes
reboot ur pc and open the floppy...it has a file in it called backup...copy and paste that file in like 5 different locations.....do no lose em...thats ur original fw
