All PAL backups will work on your PAL 360 drive no matter which model. As long as they're "prepatched". Meaning they already have the security sector.

i've got a question, do you have to flash you're drive every time before you play a backup or is it a 1 time thing? 1 more,is there any way to find out what kind of drive you are getting before you buy a 360?i think i'm waiting til the ps3 hits to get one, hopefully prices will drop.

If down the line ms can detect hacked firmware and/or backups, you just reflash your original firmware.

Here's a link: http://www.360drives.com/list Right in the store you can check on the box for the 360 for the date, lot, and team. It's on the bar code sticker.

Well it use to be the samsung because it could pull the ss out of the original disc and seemed to read dvd dl's better, but with the new firmware out, I'd say both are good. Just as long as you don't get a Phillips drive. There's nothing out for that, yet.

No can can get a Philips drive. Those only came on dev kits and other pre-release 360. That's a good think obviously.

once your xbox is in modeb with the 2 wire trick, just leave em be and make sure they don't touch ever again! I held them together with my finger tips, turned on the xbox, then unpinched them right away, so they flew away from eachother. I then ran the flasher, and once that was done, i turned off my xbox and took the wires out and put it back together.

the wires are inserted into the slots, and i held the other ends together by making the tips touch between my thumb and index finger (pinching). As soon as i turned the xbox on i opened my grasp, causing the wires to seperate... I left them in the 0 and 9 slots (with other ends free in the air, then i did the flash. Once the flash was complete, i carefully took them out, and put together the xbox.

i have a question that i need to ask about the MS seal that will void the warranty of my 360.
about a month & 3 weeks ago i had to send my 360 to ms because it was not operating properlly it took to long to load 360 brand new games and it will not play any of the xbox 1 games.
i recieved it 4 weeks ago and it looked aboslutly new, its cleaner, whiter, so ofcourse i was really happy but when i opened the faceplate and seen the MS seal it looked as if it had been opened, i could tell because if you look closely you could see bits of the seal stuck.
anyway my question is that means that my warranty has been voided or not???
thanks

The sata needs to run from the pc to the back of the 360 dvd drive. The 360 drive (power cable only) still needs to be plugged into the 360. That's where it gets it power. The video cable for the 360 should be plugged into the 360. It doesn't need to be plugged into a tv. If the video cable isn't plugged into the 360 the 360 detects that and will shut down the 360 within a few minutes. And you don't want that when you're in the middle of a flash.

1) do i use the sata that came with the 360?
2)which end do i put the 2 wires in?
3)will i have to buy a sata card or could i just disconnect the dvd drive from my pc and use that to plug in the sata.
so i connect sata pc between 360,power cable to 360 and the other thing that plugs into the hitachi drive besides the sata cable(its all black).yes/no

You'll need a longer sata cable. The one which is in the 360 is too short. There's a pic in this tutorial which shows what the sata ports on a pc motherboard look like. You can see 2 sata ports which are open and 2 below it which have cables connected. Nevermind the rest of the guide, though, because it's for a samsung drive. http://sickmods.net/shared-directories/deakphreak/firmware-flash/
And actually the pic below the sata pic shows how your 360 will be connected to the pc.
If you don't have these sata ports on your pc then you'll need to order a sata card. They're pretty cheap.
