#1 In dos with your pc.
#2 Pioneer 111d and Verbatium DVD+R DL's
#3 You'll need torx drivers.
#4 Can't post where to get the firmware from, it's against the rules.
#5 Followed the guide, flashed with latest firmware, and burnt to verbs.
Xecuter only works for the hitachi drives and there have been some people with problems after using the kit a half dozen times. Something about the resister or something blowing and wrecking their drives.

I agree.... use the cross wire and resistor trick. It's easy and cheap. That is, of course, as long as your drive is the Hitachi.

You don't buy it. Here's a link to a guide:
http://forums.xbox-scene.com/index.php?showtopic=514944 Read through it. It should answer most of your questions.
The cross wire trick is to get a Hitachi drive into Modeb so it can then be flashed.
But go though that guide. It is outdated in some spots, but it'll give you an idea of what you need to do. After you read it come back with any more questions and we'll be glad to help.

You can't use the sata to usb for flashing the 360 dvd drive. It won't work. And you can't use it to connect the 360 hard drive, either. The hd has a different connection. The xecuter kit does have a second piece which can connect the 360 hd to your pc. That's one plus for it. But there are other available connection, too. The only thing you could do it transfer music, gamesaves, etc., though. Still no playing from the hd.

just take 2 regular wires, jam em into 0 and 9, touch em, turn on the xbox then immediatly untouch the wires... modeB easy... i never used a resistor :\ As long as you immediatly untouch the wires as soon as the green light comes on, you should be fine.

Do you have a local Radio Shack? Or any place around town which repairs electronics should have what you need.

any wire... you've gotta have some standard coated wire lying around.. its doesn't have to be any special type, just be able to fit in the hole on the power supply... as long as it conducts electricity...

My 360 has the Toshiba drive so I didn't need to do that. I'm assuming you do have the Hitachi drive, right?

Well it look's like you might now have the option of using the usb to flash your Hitachi. This is a quote from Team Xecuter Quote: The much anticipated X360 USB is now ready for release. This really is the most advanced modding product to be released to date and will benefit many thousands of users. We have spent a great deal of time perfecting this product and our beta testers have been using it now for a couple of weeks - having flashed every single model of Hitachi drive many many many times thru USB using all the current released software (GaryOPA, Birdy etc), and connecting various SATA Hard drives (both 360 and stock) while performaing countless data transfer tests with 100% success we feel this product is rock solid. Samples will be shipped to Xbox-Scene and others in the next week.
We are also pleased to reveal the official logo and branding for the X360 USB along with a picture to give you an idea of its scale as some thought it was huge judging from our original pictures. We will also announce its own dedicated website address shortly, giving complete details for the end user and marketing materials for retail stores.
Check out their site for pics: http://www.team-xecuter.com/
