I have not had any problems with Ritek F1's yet however I've copied all the ones I've already burned (a Memorex 50 pack & got for Christmas & a 100 pack of Ridata I bought at Microcenter) to the hard drive then burned then to Tayio Yuden media as a safety backup. Learned the hard way from the 8X Ritek G05 medis having readability problems after several months. I lost data on about a third of the G05 discs so I don't buy anymore of the 8x Ritek media. The 4X Ritek (G03?) is very stable & I hope the 16x F1 is too. I'm finishing the 100 pack but also burning the same data to TY media just in case the F1 goes bad like G05 did. Not buying any more 16x Ritek media for a year then I'll run tests on the oldest discs. If they read good fine, If they don't then I'll throw them away & never buy Ritek again. Just Tayio Yuden which is top notch media.

Well I disagree with both of you. Verbatim is the best. It's as good as Taiyo Yuden, especially if you buy Verbatim Ty's (like I do :P)

Also, RITEKG05 is good media, but I don't favour it. Maybe you just a bad bunch or some fakes.

Anyway, as for good media these are the codes you want...
MCC - verbatim, data life.
YUDENxxxxx or TYGxx = Taiyo Yuden !!!
RICOHJPN = Ricoh made taiwan, but very god media
That is all I use ^ ^ FYI :)

actually, u've made 2 mistakes there...

it's MCC (Mitsubishi Chemical Corp.) not MMC ~

and RICOHJPN = made in taiwan, more than likely by Ritek, but it is very decent media~

everyone needs a correction now and then, so no need to take it as a "jib" or "jab" it is not meant as such :)
