LEEKOP, again u have eminem's problem.
Just run HenC then run Devhook (fw 2.71 selected) then run ISO.
YOU DO NOT NEED TO RUN 1.5 then 2.71!

I was having some problems so I thought I would post a few tips if you are having problems with ISO lauching from Devhook

When selecting the firmware to launch with, there are 2 for 2.71 the top, 2.71(flash) and at the bottom. You will need to select the one at the bottom. Mine freezes to a black screen if I select the top one. When you select the bottom 2.71 the PSP will reboot with an Anime theme.

Take the UMD out so that it doenst autoboot, you should get the red anime themed homescreen. Pop in ANY UMD and then in GAME --> UMD the iso game will now appear.

Hope this helps, i was having issues but am up and running. great work on the tutorials!

wait hold on, you do not select the ISO you want to play in the devhook menu? or you still do that, and then run it from UMD>>>>GAME

Guys,

You have to have a game UMD - a movie UMD will not work - I have tried this and thought I would share this info - avoids any of you having to buy and return a UMD movie - just get a game UMD and then will be ok.

Guys, i solved all of our problems, just make your PSP 2.71 SE-B. It makes sure that ISO games requiring firmware 2.81 and under can be run without a UMD in the drive. I never relized it but i have a 2.71 SE-B and that is why i can play Pirates of the Carribean w/o a UMD.

DO NOT DO THIS ON A TA-082 MODEL PSP!

GUIDE #1..... HOW TO INSTALL HEN AND DEVHOOK ON A TA-082 FW2.71 PSP

GUIDE #2..... HOW TO PLAY ISO/CSO

PART #3...... Other reminders, Credits, How-To-Use and links

PART #4...... FUTURE UPDATES/IMPROVEMENTS (1)

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

GUIDE #1:

HENC is homebrew enabler. This handy app lets you use the devhook launcher for your TA-082 motherboard fw 2.71 PSP. It will let you emulate/boot fw 1.5 on your PSP. Instead of a fw1.5 PSP emulating/booting the fw 2.71, you are able to do the opposite. It will not matter if you have a ta-082 motherboard or not.As long as it's fw 2.71

REMINDER:THIS WILL NOT BRICK YOUR PSP OR YOUR TA-082 PSP.. THERE IS NOT EVEN A LITTLE CHANCE..THOUGH YOUR PSP HAS TO BE A 2.71 FOR THIS GUIDE TO WORK. PLEASE REMEMBER TO REPLY IF THIS GUIDE HAS HELP U ALOT.

PLEASE DON't ASK QUESTIONS RELATED TO SOMTHING LIKE THIS>>>>

1.Are u shure my psp going to be ok?
YES, it will be ok.
2.Will it brick my 2.71 ta-082?
NO, it will not brick your 2.71 motherboard/ta-082
3.Will it work with a ta-082?
Yes it will work perfectly as long as it is a 2.71 fw psp

IF U DO NOT HAVE A FIRMWARE/VERSION 2.71 PSP FOLLOW STEPS FROM 1. TO 43. TO CHECK WHAT FW U HAVE PLEASE READ #47.

IF YOUR PSP IS ALREADY ON FW/VERSION 2.71..START FROM 11.TO 43.

In this tutorial you'll find words/phrases that some of you might not know.here is wat i call 'kinda dictionary'

1.Hard reset
To hold the power switch up for 4-8 seconds.
2.ROOT menu
The ROOT menu of your psp memory stick is where your folder PSP and MP-ROOT is located.
3.MS
MS means memory stick.
4.FW
This means firmware which is another word for version.
5.thx
this means Thanks or Thank you.
6.Keavalro
This is not a 'thing',Kealvalro is a member of this site like me.
7.Link(s)
A link is something you can simply click on with your cursor and it will bring you to the site that you clicked on
8.Homebrew
Homebrew is like what you are trying to do right now. Downloading games for psp, apps, or 'hacks'.

GUIDE STARTS HERE

1. Download the fw 2.71 update here http://dl.qj.net/Firmware-2.71-PSP/pg/12/fid/8046/catid/163

2.Connect the usb to your psp and computer

3.In the ROOT menu of your memory stick click on PSP, then GAME

4.Make a new folder called UPDATE

5.Now drag the firmware update into UPDATE

6.Now disconnect the usb and go to the GAME on your psp

7.Click on the update and update your psp

8.Now you should have a 2.71 psp, to make shure go to SETTINGS>>>SYSTEM SETTINGS>>>SYSTEM INFORMATION

9.Connect the usb

10.You can now delete the 2.71 firmware update

11.NOw download HENC with devhook in this all in one download here http://www.psp-hacks.com/file/879 . REMINDER:[/bold] Henc works ALOT better when you have a background installed on your 2.71fw psp instead of the normal background with the moving lines.

13.Extract the folder u just downloaded with this
http://www.filepedia.com/desktop_softwar...ools/winrar.cfm

14.Now open it

15.REMINDER[i]: NOW DO EXACTLY AS THIS GUIDE SAYS

16.In that folder double click on HENC-DEVLAUNCHER271

17.your should see a folder named MS_ROOT

18.open it

19.Save all your saved games and important stuff that u dont want to delete on your desktop.

20.now overwrite all the things on your psp ms with all the things that are in MS_ROOT folder

30.Disconnect your usb cable

31.Hard reset your psp

32.Now go view your pictures and you should see a picture called HENC

33. Click on it and your psp screen should turn blue then green but if not try again. if it only turns blue then thats ok also. just as long as it restarts your psp after.

34.Now go to your games (where u go to update your psp) and choose devhook launcher for fw2.71

35.There should now be a black screen with a purple box in the middle

36. This is devhook

37.On that screen choose FIRMWARE

38. Now choose 1.5

39.Now click on start

40.Wait

41.Now you should come across an error saying somthing like this [Game cannot be started] THIS IS COMPLETLY NORMAL

42.GUESS WHAT 1.5!!!!!

43.Check SETTINGS>>>>SYSTEM SETTINGS>>>>SYSTEM IFORMATION to check if you have a 1.5

YOU ARE NOW FINISHED GUIDE #1

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

GUIDE #2

Ahhh, ISO.. One of the best things you can hope to do with your PSP... ISO is a type of format that lets you play on your PSP..Or in other words, download PSP games to your PSP. There is a simple few steps to do this after you have installed your HENC and devhook.

GUIDE STARTS HERE

1.Download The ISO/CSO you want from anywhere. I suggest you download a Torrent.

2. In the ROOT of your memory stick make a new folder called ISO

3. Drag the ISO/CSO into that folder

4. Now boot up HENC

5.Now boot up Devhook

6.Now for the fw, choose 2.71

7.Then while you are still on devhook, click on UMD SELECT

8.choose your ISO or CSO that you have downloaded

9.press start

YOU ARE NOW FINISHED GUIDE #2

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

-----------------------------------------------PART #3--------------------------------------------------------

Other REMINDERS, Credits,How-To-Use and Links:

REMINDERS and How-To-Use:

1.To return to your original fw2.71 when in 1.5, hard reset your PSP.if you put it on sleep mode it will still be a 1.5

2.If i miss a step just tell me and i will fix it as soon as possible

3.If you have ANY questions to ask about any of this, feel free to ask.If i cannot reply or have no answer to your questions hopefully someone else will answer for you.

4.Make shure there are no umd in the psp or it wont work...u know that sound wen u put a umd into the psp?wen that sound is on while using hen...hen will just freeze.so either u take out the umd or wait till the sound is done....the sound that u hear wen the umd is spinning inside of the psp is the sound im talkin about.

5.If there is ANYTHING that seems confusing even a liitle bit to anyone please post it or tell me so that i can simplify it.

Installed HENC-DVELAUNCHER271 to the Memory stick tried to run HENC and at first it goes to the blue screen and just switches itself off,no reboot.now as soon as i goto photo/henc it just freezes and switches itself off.

When i try too run devhook from my stick i get a error coming on screen saying "the game could not be started (80020148)".

Anyone know how to get this up n running as i have medal of honour heroes on iso format and want to give it try.

updates are not permanent, however, models are. A TA-082 PSP has some security patches that will not let 1.5 fw be used, it lets it be emulated tho. This guide is for TA-082 PSPS only. You can check by opening the UMD drive, look around, if u see no yellow letters then it is TA-081, if you see yellow letters like IC-007 or something, it is a TA-082 model. I believe there are forums with pictures to help you.

well the devhook wont boot because you need Henc to work. I am not sure what is going on with your PSP, i sugest reformating your MS, and then redoing the guide.

Maybe this will help.

1. Take UMD out of UMD drive (if there is one in)
2. Boot HenC
3. Boot Devhook (choosing firmware 2.71 **not the flash version)
4. Select ISO/CSO you want to play, then press start.
5. There should be a red anime screen.
6. Insert any UMD (other than a movie)
7. scroll over to where the UMD is accesible. There should be a picture for your iso. Just click it and it should play the ISO. (in your case a CSO)

P.S. i cant believe im a 13 year old helping a dad :)

if mines a TA-081 model...what do i have to do?

there is 2.71 TA-081 model downgrader. It is made by dark_alex. I believe you run HenC and then the downgrader, but be super careful and make sure it is TA-081. I bricked my first psp trying it on a TA-082. Here is a link to the downgrade and a 1.5 firmware.
Generic Downgrader: http://dl.qj.net/index.php?pg=12&fid=10485
Firmware 1.5 (North American Eboot): http://dl.qj.net/psp-firmware-1.50-file-...d/163/catid/163

INSTRUCTIONS:
Put the generic downgrade into PSP/GAME
take the firmware 1.5 eboot, rename it update.pbp
replace the current update.pbp in the generic downgrader file.
Run HenC, run downgrader, then follow instructions on the screen of your PSP, then there, you have a 1.5 psp.
BE SURE YOU HAVE 50% or more battery before executing the downgrade.
