please ignore this.
I was having a stupid back to civilian life moment.
I realized what I was misunderstanding and realize I have to place all of the items in MS_root folder onto a memory card replacing all of the original files. Is this correct?

yes place MS_root files into your memory stick. Just right when you open your memorystick.

hey hackaday,i made a direct-dl for u for the chunglam version with the features, read below.enjoy it
direct-dl: http://www.rogepost.com/dn/a2m5 (NON-torrent)
though the download will take long for direct-dl
inside this has
chunglam's devhook 1.65c3
26 gameboots to boot itself everytime you boot an iso or homebrew.
gameboot will change from time to time, this is only on emulated 2.71
382 image icons so that you can see the game image everytime you choose one.
832 game covers, when you choose a game the game cover appears on the right.
HEND,1.5 and 2.71 firmware emulation already in.
2.71 having 2.82.prx,so that you can play tony hawks project 8 or game with 2.81 firmware required.
in 1.5,every month the background will change.
chunglam with wifi support.

Can anyone help please?????
I have installed HENC AND DEVHOOK 0.4 LAUNCHER for 2.71. ON A TA-082 FW2.71 PSP. I am able to run HENC and downgrade the FW to 1.5 using DEVHOOK.
When I try to access DEVHOOK for the second time in order to run an ISO I recieve an error message telling me that the game could not be started (80020001)and DEVHOOK will not launch.
Hope somebody can help
Thanks

Thanks to all for the great info. My question is: When I try to play a game that requires v.2.8*, it says i need to upgrade my fw. I have the 82 motherboard with henc and dh installed. All my home brew works fine. I downloaded nfl street, and it worked a few times then the updated needed error came up. Tony Hawk and Killzone will not work ither. Any suggestions?

you cannot play those games because they require firmware 2.8. There is a devhook .50 that emulates 2.8 letting you play 2.8 ISO files.

you dont run devhook twice, just do what this guide says.
1. Take UMD out of UMD drive (if there is one in)
2. Boot HenC
3. Boot Devhook (choosing firmware 2.71 **not the flash version)
4. Select ISO/CSO you want to play, then press start.
5. There should be a red anime screen.
6. Insert any UMD (other than a movie)
7. scroll over to where the UMD is accesible. There should be a picture for your iso. Just click it and it should play the ISO.

I might be lucky but i figured something out. I CAN play 2.8 games. Run henc, then run devhook, in devhook select the umd/iso file, then select the firmware 2.71, then go to OTHER MENU and select UMD SFO VERSION, select 2.xx to 2.00, then return to top, then select START. Go to Games and highlight the UMD and select it. All of this is done with a random UMD game IN the system. The only game that did not work was Killzone, I think its the ISO file. Hope this helps you guys!!!!
