@rihgt682, You get more for your money or should I say for the same money $249.00. Again, no one who already ownes an iPod is going to just run out and buy a ZUNE. But you can bet that anyone making a purchase today is more likely to fancy a ZUNE. ZUNE is the latest in MP3 technology and improvement without being a mere copycat. I've stood and watched as new customers seeking to buy a portable MP3 choose ZUNE over the iPod, right now and as you suggested it's popularity but once that fades and education sets in, ZUNE will be the clear choice of most people seeking a new portable MP3 player.:P

I really, really hope MS gets the Zune tight soon. I HATE iTunes. IMHO, Apple is a second rate company. Always has been, always will be. I'm so sick and tired of the elitist attitude of Apple. Macs aren't better, they're just more expensive and proprietary.

I wouldn't go that far... I am geting a MacBook Pro soon! Why do you ask? Because, I love the photo software... I love the video editing... and you can also run windowes XP one it! Yes you can now run Windowes on a Mac!

You have the latest in advanced MP3 features found on the ZUNE i.e. wireless transmission of music. The iPOD isn't better it's just more popular and APPLE/Mac knows it, that's why MAC insist on down playing the ZUNE's capabilities. They have even gotten many retailers and many magazine publications to partner their insecure sentimnet offering very few of the ZUNE's accessories and lots of unfounded biase opinion. I challenge you to visit any retailer in the northeast and you'll find the ZUNE is out stock. The ZEN is an unstabble peice of junk. I watch as their returned left and right. The iPod can compete and they will, but just know for now they've got nothing on the 30GIG ZUNE @249.00.

Do not even get me started on the Zen. I got my daughter an iPod for Christmas, but trying to use two of the same model on one pc caused all kinds of problems with iTunes. So, we returned it for a Zen. It has, without a doubt, the worst software and the worst case design imaginable. If the darn thing hadn't scratched so easily I'd return it too.

i pod has more models which all appeal to different people and price ranges, and that is a HUGE deal. they also have less bugs, and will hold up better over the long haul. think of it this way.....a runner, wants a mp3 player to use while running......ipod or zune? hmmmmmm yeah ill spend 70 bucks on an ipod shuffle 1gb....there a sale for ipod that zune will not get anytime soon.

I agree with hayden58, if the zune was smallewr and ofered a few other versions it might have a fighting chance... but it dosen't so it dosen't have a chance!

exactly, they would have to offer more models for different lifestyles and price ranges. i work at a car dealership so think of it this way.....brand new car company comes out.....Zune Auto.....they make 1 type of car, its a large SUV very nice, but thats all they make......ok how in the heck are they gonna take over the car industry with 1 model? no matter how good it is, what if the person wants a truck to carry Stuff, or a little car for gas mileage, it aint gonna happen.

Why the hell anybody would prefer a ipod to a zune is beyond me. I have a gay 5g ipod video and i hate it even with ipodlinux and rockbox on it its still the most retarded mp3 player on the market. Itunes is also the most annoying and retarded media player and windows media player 11 beats the HELL out of itunes7, and im not even going to beging to explain how retarded you have to be to buy the useless musing off the iTunes music store. Itunes is beying retarded for me btw its recognizing my stupid ipod as a 3g and deleting everything saying there is not enough room.
For those of you complaining about the bugs in windows... if youve ever actually used the os you would notice that either the bugs are unnoticible, unntroublesome, or unnworthy of complaint, (except for a FEW which i doubt the dimwitted apple uses would come across). The only bug of concern atm is the one reporting windows operating systems as pirated, but apart from a little pop-up it DOES NOTHING ELSE.
For those of you that would prefer to only use a computer for editing pictures and checking your email and looking at a little twirling wheel for hours on end then mac is the one for you!
For those of you saying that the iPod is more popular well take a hike to Europe, where only 1 out of every 10000000 people have an ipod and (being more educated, intelligent, and of a lighter-bulk than americans) LAMENT it. The rest will gladly accept the Zune and its iPod-killing features. I myself hate sitting around with my stupid-gay-looking ipod while my friends share their music. The ipod isnt even PERSONOLAIZALBE wtf...
For those of you complaining that the Zune is a first edition, well ofc there will be bugs. Lets take a peek at the 1g ipod (lol) yea it sucked. And i would even say this is cooler than the 5g, undoubtably it already has more features and a bigger screen. And ofc the next versions will be better, thinner, more hd space, more ipod-killing features, and more quality for the money ofc. The worlds leading computer corporation isn't going to let some minor competitor have top market in portable music, Ms will soon take over here finally with a dominant reliable product.
I really like this website there are alot of usefull things here but a i really dont give a f*** about getting banned, too many retarded morons here and they just keep poping up with their stupid unsuportive opinions
