What.. The PS3 may cost you more to make if you build it yourself but it dose not cost Sony more than what there selling it for. Do you actully think that Sony would sell you a PS3 for $600 when it cost them $700 or more. No they would'nt they would jack the price on up to $1000 or more. There not going to lose money on the sell of the PS3 and then have to pay the store there % for selling the PS3, thats just crazy.

It's true. For every console PS3 sells Sony loses around £100-200. They are relying on the games to sell so they can still get a profit.

Agreed with Andrew.
and yes sony loses money on each ps3, right now, and makes it up in games and such. but eventually they will also turn profit on the system as well. thats just how consoles go.

Yes Sony do lose money for each console expecting to make money back off software sales, just as Microsoft do. I think M$ might have started making money off the actual console now, so thats when price cuts happen.

well the trailer obviously shows that GTA IV is in New York, which is something i also heard from someone, now that i think about it...
