You Sir, Are 100% correct! Earlier this week I had bought a 50 pack of this media and took it back, because i was told only the 1x-16x sony DVD -R's With the white octagonal spacer would code out as TY media not 1x-8x. Well I went back and they sold them all, luckily I found two 50 packs of the sony DVD-R's 1x-8x with the white octagonal spacer on top and bought them at a different store. Well they in fact code out as TYG02 DVD-R. Thanks Everyone for all the input! I Think Afterdawn is a Great Great Site!! And all you guys on here are AWESOME! /unjust
So I went to Circuit City, found two spindles of Sony 8x DVD+R's MIJ (which were the only two spindles of +R's there) took them up and tried to price match with a Best Buy ad.
To my surprise they wouldn't do it, because the ad was for PR47LS4, and these were PR47LS3. I tried everything to talk them into letting me get these discs for the ad price. They just 'could not' do it, it was very annoying, I mean the only +R's they had, and still no dice...
@XxRUINSxX Man thats harsh! They act like it's their personal media! If i worked at a place like that I'd do it for someone, but I don't. :) When I went to sears they just looked at the picture and said " Well it looks like the same thing" and gave me a 110% price match, and I did that three times this last week! Yeah dude they do act like that. I went to staples a talked to one of the managers there he said he'd just sell em to me. 'Yeah over one letter I would've gave it to you, it's ridiculous they didn't sell it to you over one letter'.

Plus, for stores like Best Buy and Staples, they don't make any distinctions between 8x and 16x media from the same manufacturer. A year or two ago, when Best Buy had 8x Sony and 16x Sony sitting on the shelf next to each other, when they had a sale, it was all the same price. As I said before, the UPC for 8x and 16x Sony media is EXACTLY the same, so as far as Sony and everyone else is concerned, it's the same product. For them to deny a price match because of some lame model number, which has absolutely no meaning of significance, is pathetic.
I have had a lot of problems with Circuit City in the past on prices. I was actually in Circuit city this last week and asked for a price check on a certain item in the back of the store, and when I went to check out it rang up a lot higher at a different price. The Employee called to the guy working in the back and he said yes it rang up cheaper back here when i checked the price. Well long story short they gave it to me for the cheaper price but the guy up front was rude as heck about it! He would not even say Goodbye to me or anything he just turned his back and walked away. I really do no like dealing with Circuit City! /Unjust
