I may have been thinking of back in the day or may be confusing them with OfficeMax...I always get them mixed up and don't which one I'm going to until I'm sitting in front of the store.
blivetNC- Well Then prepare to shudder !! It's happened already !! It's called ATIVA!!!!!!!!!!!! A second house brand By OFFICEDEPOT !!! Though not made By Ricohjpn or Ritek !!! But instead by CMC ! So To quote Monty Python from the HOly Grail Movie " Run away !!!!!!!!!!!" atleast from the ATiva Stuff ! I used to buy maxells farely often ( on sale ) and they were Mostly Riteks then ! Till I learned here that Officedepots brand was the same Media code @ the time Ritek G-05's & some of Their Dvd+R I think THe code was o3's the Officedpot media was and often still is cheaper than Maxells ! Would I still Buy Maxells ? Yes if the price is Right and they are'nt CMC ! I still occasional do buy them when I run across the MIJ's on clearance or marked down ! It seems that the 50 Ct. Spindles have pretty much Dried up in my neck of the woods !! I mostly find the smaller packs ( Jewel cased ) and that's about it ! but It's all good all the time Right anyway I guess I bored everyone enough for now so later blivetNC!!!!!!!!!!Ciao!!!
I had heard that the Ativa brand was toxic, but I'm hoping that the Office Depot brand doesn't stoop to the level of that wonderful bog sludge called CMC. Lately I've been using Sony and Verbatim due to their abundant sales around here, so I'm set a while before I wade into the bayou and avoid CMC cancer.

So is there anything to look for on the OD wrapper that tells you (perhaps a code or something) that tells us whether it's Ritek or Ricoh? If so then what are they?
Does anyone have an idea why places like OfficeMax, Office Depot, et al, don't stock an inkjet printable house brand? I've got to imagine that the %ages of them has begun to rise.
