Just had my account disabled after a day :(
I don't know for sure why but I have a guess.

I was given the account from some one who said they
no longer wanted it and assured me it was ok to take
the account over since it wasn't being traded or sold
that it didn't violate any rules.

I did so and switched over the email and the country
since I figure the tracker can see your IP any way.
I managed to download one torrent and was seeding it
in an effort to get the ratio back up. When I got the
account the ratio was under .5 so I wanted to get it
back above 1:1

When I went to log in today to check what my ratio was
after the seeding I got an error 2 message so I requested
a password. After that, I get a notice saying the account
was disabled and I can't do anything.

I don't know what to do. Does anyone know if BCG will
permanently ban IP addresses from signing up? I hope not.
This is the one tracker I really wanted to belong to
because I cant find a good place for gamecube games anywhere.

I've been checking and checking for open sign ups and even
had some friends who agreed to give me an invite for a while
Bc hasn't been accepting any new members.

I'm a member in good standing on all my other trackers. Looking
back, I should have asked someone at BC if taking over an account
was ok before I did it. I messed up because I was desperate to get
on. Does anyone think it would help to explain the situation to a
mod over at BC or will that just make things worse?

I don't wanna make waves and violate site policies, I just really
wanted to be a part of that community.

Now then.. If you had read all the info in the posted irc logs you would have seen that some admins are making accounts on a one by one basis.

Maybe existing accounts will come back, maybe not. There were comments about any leeching **** who was under 1.1 will not get an account.

Now about the other stuff.. I have a feeling it may be the end for them. I have seen big fallouts over money among site admins before. The owner has got very paranoid about running it, and there is a matter of finding a safe hosting for the site, let alone the mess over the prizes.

Keeping on bringing it up in open public forums doesn't help the guys feel safer or get the site up any faster. I wouldn't want to run a site like that from the UK, regardless of where the servers are physically located. You know one day they will come through your door on behalf of the copyright owners.
If you really want to help, find Stoi and offer him some cash towards a secure hosting.. that is.. if he is having anything to do with it now.

That would be thanks to me. Looks like they banned the wrong person this time. I don't appreciate being thanked for all my uploading with a ban with no explanation.

It's everyone, not an accidental ban. My down and up are still working (varies from max to 10kb back and forth on upload), but all active torrents are red.

Probably just site maintenance or an error.

Thanks to you? You mean you're DDOS attacking the server or something?
That's awfully childish of you and isn't going to lead to anything positive.

Site is also down for me. I never received the email, but I had uploaded 2 torrents just before it was knocked offline. Crazy stuff.

EDIT : The black-cats IRC channel (www.blackcats-games.net:666
#blackcats) topic is "'Site Attacked by internet hate machines(c)! Tracker is up if you can connect No invites or open registrations"

Nope. My download just finished 5 mins ago (it was going from zero to 10kb, luckily was near the end), but my uploads are around 3kb/s now.

I sure am. I know it's not going to lead to anything positive, but neither is banning all your members for no reason. At least it makes me feel better :)

If you don't know what happened, look a few posts above at the self-congratulatory hacker's post for some dubious claim for what happened. Somehow, I knew it was going to get hit by some d**khead or another after Supertorrents got hit...and the blackcats admin was in the process of switching over to ad-generated revenue instead of donations to try to avoid the reason why supertorrents got hit in the first place. Accursed malcontents with nothing more to do than take down thriving communities like Blackcats are a dime a dozen I guess. Either that or now we'll be seeing a whole bunch of copycat hackers taking down all the torrent sites we know and love. Great.

So, bcatssux, which rule(s) did you break? You don't get banned for no reason. Did you have too many HnRs? Not seed properly? Have a bad ratio? Try to sell an account? The rules are very clearly laid out, and if you didn't do anything terribly wrong, you will get warned with what you need to do to maintain your account.

Don't get all pissy just because you can't follow the rules. I'm glad you feel better, though, with your equivalent of a third grader throwing a hissy-fit and bragging about it afterwards for attention.

how much damage will be done to the site once this is all done and over with? how much longer is this going to take to get resolved?

My ratio was over 1.0 and I broke no rules. A staff member just decided to ban me on a whim, so I took the site down on a whim :)

I'll probably let it back online in a day or two after I get bored.

Ok, mr. mighty hacker. Give us a date and time that you will "allow" it to come back and we will verify whether or not it is actually your work and doing. Come on, we want proof, and if it's verifiable, you'll get a major boost of credibility.

Well, another user which didn't read the rules about individual ratio over global ratio.
We just can be glad that everyone which has been banned because he was too lazy to read the rules is not like him..

He'll grow up eventually.

I don't care whether you believe me or not, it doesn't matter. Besides it probably won't come back up right away after I stop.

Ask the blackcats admins what's happening to their server. It started with a simple http flood, and then moved on to a tcp flood on ports 21, 23, 80, 666, 2228, and 6667. They're lucky I didn't decide to completely flood their connection with UDP packets :)

If these guys were even halfway competent they could have setup some firewall rules to block this shit by now. This is one of the easier forms of DDoS to block.

Good for whoever took down black-cats....Screw them. I used to be a HUGE supporter, I donated at least once a month, had a ratio of over 7:1, and then they switch to a new type of "point" system and it totally screwed me. I have to sit there and upload for over a day before I can download a single torrent, and its just a pain in the a$$. I hope they never come back up.

Thanks for the answer, it was HnRs that banned you. Just as I suspected. Read the rules next time.
