It really depends on how you ripped your DVD's. MyMovies would rip the entire DVD with the menus.

the old xboxes can and do play vob files from the network.... you just need XBMC (xbox media centre) installed. just see my post further up this page - http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_jump....3768164

My apologies. I was referring to XBOX 360

All that's needed is an Action Replay kit which comes with an xbox memory card plus a USB device for the pc; or a usb/box adapter of some kind (i only do the Action Replay method and have no idea what the adapter looks like; i think you can even use certain USB PC pen drives). No opening of xbox required, you basically copy a couple of files onto the memory card via the USB device, remove the memory card and plug it into an xbox controller, copy the 2 files to the xbox hard drive; then insert one of 3 game discs ie Splinter Cell or Mechassault or a James Bond Game (the title of which escapes me). follow the instructions and voila - xbox is 'softmodded'.
Then you can install XBMC and whatever else you like.

The instructions i provided in that second link are just step by step notes i made when i did my first xbox. Now i've done half a dozen more machines it's dead easy. Just take a backup at the relevant point and it can all be undone ie the xbox can easily be returned to 'stock'.

I have a problem. I got many DVD's about 100 movies, 10 serie's, 50 music DVD's. Is there anyway to put a subfolder in the DVD-menu? so i can sort everything out, because now I have approxomaticly 170 DVD's in 1 directory this is not the easiest to search and pick a DVD in mediacenter.

the first and only thing that i try:

I make a folder structure like;

DVD
---Serie's
---Movie's
---Music

If I ad the folder "DVD", then all the dvd's appear in 1 directory (in MediaCenter).

If I ad every single folder "Serie's", "movie's" and "Music", the also appear in 1 directory (in MediaCenter).

Does somebody have a solution, to make sub categories in the DVD menu feature?

thanks in advance for any reply's.

Hey Guys,

I wanted to post an update in terms of the Extenders. First I take back what I said earlier about the new extenders. I have verified, beyond any doubt (I personally tested each one of them) that extenders doesn't and will not support DVD play over network. This apply to either sharing your DVD drive ripped DVD's on your hard drive.

So what are the options?

1. If you can get your hands on old XBOX - install the XBMC
2. If you have an extra pc - you can either configure it with MCE or Vista (if the hardware can support it) and then access your shared folder.
3. Same as #2 but using XBMC instead of MCE or Vista
4. If you have some extra $$ - get a mini media center and follow #2 or #3

I have been doing some reading. It looks like Popcorn Hour will play video_TS folders accessing the vob and iso files.

I HAVE NOT tried this my self. From what i read it looks like it. There is a guy on YouTube who said he would make a video and post it. when this happens i will share the link. Showing the Popcorn hour doing this.
