i can improve a little on that
Shotgun-
m1014 w/ grip
.45(faster and more accurate than D.E. IMHO)
X attatchment
* stoppin power
+ steady aim
will own anybody 1 hit ko up to:
10 yards with m10
15 yards with w1200
even after those limits the will be on deaths row after 2 hits
Another good shotgun class...

Same, I find at the distance a shotgun would be lethal at its just as easy to use a knife.

I like a class with some good for every situation.
Primary weapon: G3 w/ silencer
Secondary weapon: M1014 w/ red dot sight
Special grenade: Flash x1
Perk 1: Claymores
Perk 2: Overkill
Perk 3: Steady Aim
With this, you can storm a building with the M1014, which'll kill usually in one hit. Then, when all enemies are gone, use claymores to secure the area. Finally, you can use the silenced G3 to pick off anyone you see from your vantage point.

the best class for hardcore search and destroy is a g36c with a silencer m16 with acog and perks 2x clamore overkill and dead silence

have any of you guys played with a guy named Bird-of-death. He is #1 with total kills in the world on PS3. well actually he is number 2 but the guy that is above him was using the cheat codes before they were blocked. I have talked to him and the only thing he uses is the M-16 with double tap. I forget the other 2 that he uses. He never aims like using the red dot site just the cross hairs when you are walking. He never stops walking while playing. and just aims in the general area of the head so almost all of his kills are headshots. if you guys ever play against him just spectate him. he is daaaaaaaaaaaaammmmmmmmmmmmnnnnnnnnnnn good and that is an understate ment.

I own with this set up...
Primary: AK-47 red dot
Secondary: 50 Cal
Perk 1: Claymore
Perk 2: Overkill
Perk 3: Iron lungs
Snipe from afar yet still able to protect urself with an AK when someone approaches. Claymore to protect ur self while camping and iron lungs to insure a perfect head shot.
Or just use the AK if not sniping....best of both worlds.
Xtra bullet damage, juggernaunt, deep bullet penetration, and especially martyrdom are unrealistic and are for wussies.
PS3...it only does everything(that Sony allows it to)

I like to use my saw.
Heres my best say class.
SAW w/Grip
Sidearm:Deagle
Deep impact
Steady aim.
I used this class and killed a guy from 50 yards away on map Creek without even aiming.

I know a really good shotgun class i use alot. This is it.
Weapon:(I dont know the name its been awhile since ived played so)The first shotgun you get.
Sidearm:(again i dont know but its the first 1)....
Perk 1:grip
Perk 2:Double tap
Perk 3:Steady aim
You can shoot really fast with really good aim. This class helped me get golden M10

Martydom? Grenade Launcher(aka the noob tube)? Seriously only NEWBIES use those. It will get you all the hatre you could possibly get from a game. Anyway avoid using those it's annoying and make you look like a noob.
Here are some of my class setups (I'm lvl 55 1st prestige, thinking about unlock everything first before continue my prestige career)
Prim: M16 with Red dot
Sec: Deagle
Spec: stun/Smoke (Smoke for S&D)
P1: Claymore/Frag x3 (clay for S&D, Frag for others)
P2: Stopping power
P3: Extreme Condition/Last Stand
All my perks and spec as well as secondary are set the same with above.
Prim: Ak47 & silencer
Prim: G3 + Red dot
Prim: MP5 + Silencer
Prim: P90 + Silnencer
P2: UAV Jammer

martydom and grenade launchers are so dumb. I personally use for normal deathmatch:
M40A3 (first sniper) with acog to pull of the no scopes (im pro)

my best class is mp5 with reddot or silencer hand gun silencer and perk 1 more amow perk 2 radar jammer perk 3 steady aim and p90 with red dot and all the same perks

i mostly play hd core search and deathmatch. i switch between 2 guns
1. M16-Silenced
pistol-m911
perk 1- clays
perk 2- either UAV jammer or Slieght of hand depends if search of TDM.
perk 3-extreme condit./Dead silence
1x smoke
2. G36C-Silenced
(perks and everything the same as above.)
sometimes in Hdcr TDM i like to throw in a G3 for some variety

God, all those things you people hate... you hate too much.
In truth, I'll throw some random stuff together every now and then just because it's really boring playing the game... just to advance your levels. I realized that after the fourth or fifth prestige.
That said, I've always had a fancy for this particular setup (with variations galore):
Main - Mini Uzi/P90/Skorpion (Dot Sight/Silencer)
Sub - Any, usually the SOCOM pistol (sans Silencer because the gun actually sounds powerful that way) or Desert Eagle
Perks:
- Frag/Special Grenade x 3
- Sleight of Hand/UAV Jammer
- Extreme Conditioning/Martyrdom/Steady Aim
Of course, this is all just to have some more fun. Sometimes I'll use an M16/M4 combo with grenade launchers on both to get more grenades. It's great and hilarious.

Ha, a random (but good) bump.

Main: Golden Shotgun (can't remember the name but the only one you can get golden with :P )
2ndry: Golden Desert Eagle (100% golden rocks :D)

I usually play hardcore search and destroy so using a shotgun sucks on that. My class for that is.
1st: Dragunov? Sniper
2nd: G36C with red dot
Perks:
Claymores x2
Overkill
Extreme Conditioning

best class for search and destroy in cod 4 has to be the following:
primary weapon : AK47 with red dot sight
handgun : Desert eagle
perk 1 : claymore
perk 2 : stopping power / uav jammer
perk 3 : dead silence
this is what works best for me in cod 4 in search and destroy but it really depends on the map

Perk 3 - Dead silence
Sniper =
Prmiary Weapon - R700 - Standard Scope - Red Tiger
Pistol - Golden Desert Eagle

These are my current 5 classes, Currently working towards Red tiger for all weapons in my classes, when i have acheived that i will change around some weapons. I dont cheat in cage match for headshots :)

WOW some suggestions have been extremely awful apart from two.
Firstly
MARTYRDOM
-Drop Nade when killed
-Slan name :- Noobadom
is THE worst PERK EVER! NEVER use it! YOU GET CHEAP KILLS! NO RESPECT! (Oh and what confuses me is why snipers use martydom,still dont use)
Secondly
Last Stand
-Get to kill someone using a pistol before dying(Doesnt work if you are killed by explosion or by knife or by headshot so some of the time it is ineffective
-Slang Name:-Noob Stand
another awful one. NEVER USE!!! CHEAP KILLS!NO RESPECT!
Thirdly
Grenade LAuncher
-Fires a impact detonated grenade from an underslung launcher(Replaces Perk 1)
-Slang Name:- The Noob Tube
Ok my main real rant on this is is that you have no perk 1 which can be used on something A LOT more useful. The only time I use this is when i do Hardcore!
Also dont use the P90(MP5 does a waaaayyyy better job)
Oh and the differnce between flash and Stun
Flash
Cons-Takes longer to throw and higher chance to flash you.
Pros-COMPLETELY IMPAIRS VISION AND HEARING! Important for people who DONT WANT TO HEAR YOU!Flash radius is MUCH bigger
Stun
Cons-People still have good vision whilst under their effects and relatively easy to shoot people whilst under their effects.
Pros- Their shooting is more difficult and it takes a shorter time to throw.
Overall personally i would go for the flash. Better really.
OK now my classes.These are all based on the last time before prestige i.e level 55
Assault(Main assualt class VERY GOOD IN HARDCORE!! ALWAYS 1 SHOT KILLS!)
M14 w/ Silencer or ACOG(I think,Assualt rifle version)
Camo-Digi Camo (the only actual useful one) or whatever takes your pick
Perk 1- Bandoleer or Bomb Squad(depends how good you are or how much ammunition you use i.e. if you are REALLY gung ho)
Perk 2-Stopping Power(With M14 it takes 2 shots or 1 headshot)
Perk 3-Sometimes Extreme conditiong or Deep IMpact
Pistol- M9 w/ Suppressor (ALWAYS PUT SUPPRESSOR ON PISTOL! If you have flanked and you have no silent weapon then your pistol can take them out silently...Also it sounds cool :D)
Special Nade-Flash (Always better than stun because you cannot see AT ALL whereas with stun its very easy to shoot someone)
Ghillie Mist (My second flanking class also quite useful or assault espicially against a good team)
Primary Weapon- G36c w/red dot(My fave assault!)
Camo- Digi (above reasons)
Perk 1- Bandoleer
Perk 2-UAV JAMMER(BEST PERK BY FAR)
Perk 3-Steady Aim (Quick kills when flanked)
Pistol-M9(highest cap magazine)
Special Nade-Stun(purely because its slightly faster to pull and throw)
Ghost/SUPER FLANKER (My best class and my fave by far)
Primary Weapon- MP5 w/ Silencer(MUST HAVE SILENCER,MP5 and silencer are like best brothers and i dont get why a red dot with an MP5 would ever be useful)
Camo-Red Tiger(More Respect)
Perk 1-UAV JAMMER
Perk 2-Dead Silence
Perk 3-Bandoleer or BOMB SQUAD(VERY USEFUL although it depends on the map i.e. if it's a sniper map or not)
Pistol-M9 w/silencer
Support(Really its anti-heli but i do use it on other occasions)
Primary Weapon- First LMG you getw/red dot(soz cant remember name!)
Camo-Digital Camo
Perk 1-Stopping Power or Sleight of Hand(For obvious reasons)
Perk 2-Extreme Conditioning(BEACUSE YOU WILL BE SLOOOOWWWW)
Perk 3- RPG-7(Great anti-heli,shoot once with RPG then finish off with some bullets)
Pistol-Gold Deagle(No reason to be stealthy ;p)
Special Nade-Smoke
Finally Snipp Snipp (Well its a sniper class)
Primary Weapon- Barret 50.Caliber
Secondary Weapon-P90(I hate this weapon usually although its not to bed when used with a sniper)
Camo-Woodland or Desert (more camoed in,amkes little differnce but it helps ;p)
Perk 1- Claymore( Quite good against most people but clever people have a good eye for them soooo) or Bandolier
Perk 2- Steady Aim or Iron Lungs (Depends on what you are going to use)
Perk 3-Overkill
Special Nade-Flash Bang
