I picked up the Memorex DLs, as you can see from the picture. I'll probably burn one on Tuesday. If this thread has dropped, I'll bump it with a quality score on the burn.
You don't wanna know the hell that was picking up this damn order at best buy. Unreal. Moving on... lol
EDIT Regardless of how this scores, I'll always prefer Verbs over Memorex. I just wanted to see how these score.

The scan should look something like this:
linky
As long as you use a burner which is compatable to the media. The Ritek S04s is decent media.

Nice scan hobbit. ;)
I burned one last night at 4x and it's not scanning past the layer break. Any secrets with this media (Ritek S04) that I'm not doing?? I'll try again tonight and see what happens. 2.4x maybe and another burning progie but I've NEVER had any issues with imgburn.... ;)

Those riteks can be good or bad. I would slow down the speed to 2.4X I never burn them fater than that. verbs that is; but I did have some RitekDLs and still have one left. and a stack of verb dls that I'm afraid to let come incontact with this new POS from Dell- all SATA top of the line and anydvd and clone won't close a disc. Where nero and Roxio both installed will!!

It's a glitch....unresolved I believe. I saw a different thread at LeFreaks, but this was all I could find for now.

Thanks LOCO... I'm giving KProbe a try right now.
I haven't done that much scanning lately or burning... lol. But I thought with the deals on DVD+R DL blanks I'd give them a go. I have a few left over from a certain friendly Hobbit Claus but I just don't do that much burning to DL media. I like DVD RB Pro and it's output that DVD+R DL media is NOT needed very often... I have a few movies like Goodfellas, The Godfather, and some of the longer ones that DL media would be great for so I bought some at less than a $1 each. :)
So far it seems that the discs are burning just fine but my Lite-On LH-20A1P isn't liking the outcome. lol. Maybe it's DiscSpeed or something with the discs but I'll see what I can do. Still haven't gotten past the layer break in any scan with any drive atm. OF course I'm only working on one machine atm too. lol......

It has been my experience that if the burn goes through the layer break and finishes, generally the scan will too. Have you tried playing one of your tries through the layer break yet?
What speed are you scanning at? Try 4x.
Have you tried having ImgBurn do a verification after a burn?

Here's the scan of the Ritek S04..
burned w/ Lite-On LH-20A1P
IMGBURN @ 2.4x
Scanned w/ LH-20A1P @ 4x
w/ KProbe...
goodfellas RITEK S04
w/Nero DiscSpeed 4.11.2.0
goodfellas RITEK S04
NOT bad results at all... pleased actually... Gonna check the disc I burned at 4x and see what that looks like.. ;)

add: sorry for the seemingly double post... I could have linked you guys to the Scan thread but it would mean an extra click and I know how lazy you guys are... lol...
ok link anyway.. ;)

I used the most updated version of DiscSpeed and also my new puter... lol. I think the old puter (AMD system) has some corrupted files or something... I also scanned at 4x and that seemed to help as well... I need to try that on the AMD puter but I don't have the time right now.. :)

EDIT: $65 at my SAMS, maybe they were closing them out at your Sams and that's why they were so cheap.
EDIT again (the real one this time)....looks like I can't tell the difference between the edit button and the quote button. :)

It looks like it is a closeout. I just checked again and the store closest to me that sells DL DVD+Rs does have the $60 packs, but not the $50 packs. The coloring on the lettering is different. This isn't the store closest to me, but it shows them both being in stock and you can compare.

Yeah it's worth it to keep a Sams Club Membership if only just for the DL Verbatims. I didn't feel like driving 30 miles for the $50 a pack ones so I just went to the Sams that's 10 minutes aways from the for the $60 pack. At least they are MIS.

The thread is a week or two old, but here're the scans that I promised when we started this thread.
Both burns are on the same drive, same speed, same everything.
Memorex DLs:
And old reliable, Verbatim DLs:
Those Memorex discs are the same ones that I posted earlier that code out as Riteks. Unfortunately, it didn't score as well as I thought.
However, if it's any consolation, the very, very small batch of CMC Mags (that were TDKs) that I have from like 5 years ago score less than 50.
These Riteks are better than that.
Verbs still trump them though.
EDIT Those Memorex discs are giving me problems during playback :( It'll either get hung up on a spot or it'll stutter over certain points. As I said, old reliable, the Verb disc, played back flawlessly.
EDIT 2 Here's the exact same ISO burn from the Memorex scan but with a Verb:

wow that's quiet bit of a difference. Definitely stick with Verb for all DL needs.
Thanks for the scans!
