Hardly an appropriate analogy. Who knows, the Revolution could be much better at high load in the real world, but until I know someone who's tested it for real I can't say. As efficient as the new Enermax units are, the build quality of them still concerns me, as well as the price. The 850W Corsair HX is £138, versus £184 for the Revolution. The 1050W isn't so bad at £207 versus £190, but even so, that's a lot of extra money, when you'e already paying through the nose.
just got my new corsair hx1000 today from scan and its in my system. great stuff. the noise of it seems the same as my tx750. just gotta get rid of that now i have no use for it.
thanks for all the comments and help.
huge box for a psu lol corsair must of read my mine, i was wanting some zip ties and was going to go out and buy some today, but then the hx1000 turned up and the cable ties are there lol
Yeah the zip ties that come with the HX1000 are handy. The noise of the unit put me off though. It's about average at idle, thoroughly unimpressive but not terrible. However, load it up beyond about 400W and it quickly becomes very loud. Of course, very few people who own 1KW PSUs actually use more than 400W anyway.
