I think I have found the problem fix here. I was having troubles also with the game looping back to the loading screen. It would load approx. 90% then the screen would be all messed up then it would go back to try and load again, but anyway this is what I did and it worked great.
If you have a modded xbox and are able to get the game to your hard drive then do this:
ftp to the xbox and open up the game in ftp.
find the file named: dashupdate.xbe and deleted it.
yes that is what i said: DELETE THE FILE.
I did this and it worked great.

No it shouldn't, that is how i deleted the file. Did you turn off the IGR in you dashboard too. As it posts earlier says to do so.
Also you may want to clear out any cache files on the x,y or z folders.
all i can say is it fixed the game that i have.

Yeah it is in evox. Just boot to the evox dashboard and go to system utilities then settings.
Scroll down the list till you see IGR then set it to no.
Don't forget to save and exit. If you just exit then it won't save the changes.
LMK if it works for you.

...and when you are looking through the settings to set "In Game Reset" (IGR) to NO, scroll through all the System Settings -- there are several settings, and the one that really matters is the LAST one!
In case you are puzzled by IGR, what it does is install a vector that sniffs the the controller while you are playing a game. When it detects Left Trigger, Right Trigger, Back, and Start actuated at the same time, it resets the XBox. Which is really handy if you are too lazy to get up and walk over to the Box to physically hit the power switch. But unfortunately several games choke on the non-standard vector.

I believe the only real fix for this is a patch which I don't believe is out there yet. I've tried everything described in these posts to get this bloody game to work to no avail. guess i'll just have to keep searching google for an irc or bit torrent downloadable patch for SORM.

Yeah mine kept looping back to the loading screen. So I set the IGR to NO and that didn't work for me.
Then as soon as I deleted the dashupdate.xbe from the game it worked perfect.
Just remember that you either have to download the game to your computer then delete the file before making a backup
----------or----------
Save the entire game to your hard drive, then ftp to your xbox and open up the game, then delete the dashupdate.xbe that is in the game.

When you remove dashupdate.xbe from your backup through ftp, make sure it actually gets deleted. Some programs wont take it off of the xbox for some reason. I used dvd2xbox and removed it from the HD backup manually. This fixed the problem (with the appropriate "in game reset" (IGR) settings turned off.
Thanks for the initial posts on solving this prob.

I have
evox 3935
m8.bin bios
princo dvd-r media
backed up using flash fxp
iso image maker v2.0
burnt using recordnow max.
I also deleted the dashupdate.xbe (52MB) and downloader.xbe (2.5MB) files
Have had no problems at all. Hope this helps.

Hi, im getting my Xbox chipped soon and would like to back-up all my games so i don't lose or stratch up the orignals. But... i don't know how to make back-up copies of them... I can do DVD's and stuff but they don't back them up.
I would like a simple programme (like Games X Copy, but i have heard that has many problems) that shrinks the file and burns to disc in one prog.
Please help!!!
Thanks, Callum

The best way to make a backup would be to ftp to the xbox download the game to your computer, make an xISO file of the game and then burn it to a dvd using Nero.
------------OR----------
just get a bigger hard drive and use DVD2XBOX copy the game directly to the xbox hard drive.
