My back-up of shadow ops: red mercury will make it to the title screen, but when you load a campaign, it freezes up after a few seconds, with the progress bar frozen at about 10%. Same thing happens when I play it from the hd as well. I do not have this problem with other back-ups, and this has the same issue on another modded xbox. I'm running a xenium chip, 120 g hd, evox-m7 bios. Thanks in advance for your help, I hope I posted this in the right forum.

perhaps a bad backup? You could try and remake it; see if that works.

nope, tried again but to no avail. Doublechecked original and back-ups both on two different modded xboxs. Bios issue?

Did you ever solve this problem? I'm having the same problem -- game will play from the DVD with orig. bios, but fritzes while Campaign loads when I use Evox bios.

I agree -- I'm sure it needs to be patched. It is a relatively new game, so there may be a new media check (or something similar) embedded in the code. We may have to crack that baby in order to back it up... I'm gonna play with it this week to see what I can find.

Found the problem. The game was tripping over a bios vector. So go to System Settings and disable RD Tools and In Game Reset (there are several places to change to "NO" for IGR). Don't forget to save settings at the bottom of the Settings screen, reboot, then run your backup. It should work.

Slight overreaction -- actually the only In Game Reset you need to turn off in System Settings is the last one (the Misc. category, if you use the Evox dash).
Let me know if you have any other problems...

When you disable In Game Reset, make sure you SAVE settings after setting it to NO... Depending on which dash you are using, it usually won't save the setting unless you specifically tell it to do so. Also make sure you look for ALL the In Game Reset settings -- you might be missing the primary one.

Will the original DVD play? Is it failing from DVD backup media, or the hard drive? At what point does it fail, and how does it fail? Any other mods on your box? Its hard to help you without more info.

I have the same probs. IGR is disabled in EvoX. The game starts up very slowly and fails to continue after the intro movie. Who can help me out?
Btw, I startup EvoX dash from a CD, but I can't save any changed settings. Is that correct? (I messed up by an autoinstall of Xbox Live!, so I start up from a CD atm)

I'd recommend you fix your evox dash so that you can boot off the HD. I'm afraid one of the settings is snagging the code, and you can't save because a CD is read only! You should just be able to copy over a clean copy of xboxdash.xbe using FTP, or a bootable CD with boXplorer.
Another option is that you have a bad copy, or you are missing some files. If your copy is complete, there is no question that it will run on your box.
If you'd like, I can send you a copy of the evox.ini file, but as long as you are booting off a CD, you won't be able to change yours.
Good luck.

Thx securd. I will first reinstall EvoX and try. Btw. The settings I see now are:
IGR is off
RD Tools is disabled
TSR is disabled
And the game won't work
