Red Boarder means it can't detect a format. Most people suggest using DVD-R and burning at the slowest speed possible with DVD Decryptor. Typically DVD loader works in instances where you get a blue border, but the game still doesn't load up. Some more information might be useful (like your ps2 version). Try this and see if it helps though. Insert your Swap Magic CD v3.0 disk. Let it start up. Then either press Triangle on the controller or eject on the console. It will then ask you to insert a disk with a higher TOC. Put in your Swap Magic DVD v2.0 disk. It will then say Refreshing TOC. It will finish and in the lower left hand corner it should say "PS2 DVD." Now swap for you Madden 2004 disk and start the game. See if that gets you any further.

Thanks for the help guys, (yugiohme and Halogen64)

I am using Sonic DVD-R's that were bought from shop4tech. (mostlikely they are cheap, they were given to me for free from my brother.)(I have ordered some Ritek DVDs for future use, I've read that these are good DVDs to use.

I have a V4 PS2 with fliptop cover.
I have tried both Nero 6.3 and DVDdecrypter to burn madden. I have also tried to burn Twisted Metal Black and Lethal Skies II and gotten the same results.

I always use Verbatim - these are very good for backing up ps2 games. And burn 1X. Red border is usually when not burned on a good dvd-r.

tj1,

here's what i would recommend:

Use ritek/verbatim dvd-rs

Use DVD Decrypter and use read iso mode to create the iso of the game.

Next, use CloneDVD and use the iso burn feature to burn the backup. Use 1X if u can find out how to set the speed.

it doesnt seem to work because i extracted the loader then used Nero to try to burn the image to dvd but the image is less then 600mb so it wont let me burn it to dvd.

I burnt it to a cd-r but it doesnt work.

diehard3x,

that happened to me also, but i fixed the problem by starting Nero (normal not express), and then recorder, and then on burn image. I selected the dvd loader image and put it on a dvd burn format, and it worked!!

If that doesn't work then use alcohol (spelling) 120%.

If that doesn't work then maybe you haven't extracted the image file from the compressed file and so it's not working.

If none of these fixes your problem, then you need to get cd loader from www.swapmagicfix.com (burn cd loader onto a cd)

If that doesn't work either, then I'm sorry and i can't help you

Goodbye.
