The Crossfire bug is livable, it's the fact that the AI is among the worst I've ever seen coupled with the random bugs that puts me off. How you can live with the AI in that game I do not know. Co-op or no-op as far as I'm concerned.
As for MW2, can't say I've had that issue, but then I don't recall alt-tabbing, I just remember closing the game because of how irritating the performance was.

Well my wrist is doing much better. I'm thoroughly enjoying Left 4 dead 2! Liking the new enemies, weapons, gameplay in general! Only one thing worthy of noting was a rather repetitive line by one of the guys! "Get this thing off my back, Get this thing off my back, Get this thing off my back... I thought that was rather irritating, but shrugged it off after hearing it a few times. Are the witches slower about reacting in this one? I swear it seemed like she was rousing from a Drunken Stupor last time I saw her LOL!
LOL! I think he says, "Shoot this thing on my back" :P

I know what you're saying, though I don't think I've found it as repetitive yet. Considering the L4D1 alternatives were either 'get it off' or 'get it off me' it's not much to complain about.
Were you playing at daytime? Remember the daytime witches wander around aimlessly, though I do have to say I think the new witches take a bit longer to hunt someone down. They have done so successfully though, with the same deadly results.

At almost £400 delivered, the HD5870 from Novatech is not cheap, but the fact that it's in stock shows just how effective removing the HD5800 category from the 'browse by' section of the site is for consumers.
The popularity of the HD5700 series is taking its toll on stock, but fortunately it's not enough to create any problems - you can still buy either the 5750 or 5870 from pretty much any of the UK's component retailers from a board partner you like.

That's interesting. I don't recall ever acknowledging that fact. I suppose it was around daytime when I spotted her...Hard saying, I was a bit intoxicated last night LOL! I can't believe a grenade launcher didn't take her down! Followed by a shotgun blast however... ;)

No, not necessarily. The Samsung HD502HJ scores higher than OCZ Vertex SSDs and WD Velociraptors. That's a 16MB cache 500GB drive. The test is meaningless.

Or rather, the game highlighted her pink because you biled her....
Boomerbiling the tanks works a treat, especially if you throw a pipe bomb into the mix too.
Wow, the finale for The Parish is hard. On Advanced it took us 7-8 attempts at least, maybe over a dozen, I lost count. Suffice to say, all 4 preceding levels we did on the first try...

The game has a conscious? :P
Hey sam, any idea's why windows XP is not giving me as many options for the 16:9 Resolution settings, as Windows seven gives for a 16:10? I think XP only gives me 2 actual 16:9 resolution settings, where Windows 7 gives multiple 16:9 settings for a 16:10. Im a bit at a loss here. My drivers are up to date by the way.

Didn't really think about it that way. I guess we'll see when I hook that one up to windows 7. No time for that today to hook it up to my machine, but I suppose I could wait, and just hook it up to hers. She'll be running windows 7 inside a couple weeks on her machine.
You know whats funny? My 5 year old CRT has more settings than this new 16:9 monitor!!! 1280 X 720 actually looks pretty good on it too.

It should - CRT monitors have all sorts of image sizing options that LCDs don't need because they are perfectly accurate. With CRTs you have to fiddle with the positioning, size, pincushioning and so on to get a nice rectangular picture. LCDs are 1:1 pixel mapped since they produce the image digitally. Advanced technology they may be, but they're a lot simpler in reality!

Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter - is that the one in Mexico City?
I played 2/3 through that and then gave it to little Fernie - but I have been thinking about picking it up again - Steam had a bundle of several of those games for very cheap.
So does that mean, Boozer, that you finally now have a gaming rig?
Haha - so Jeff and Kevin like to play L4D a little bit toasted, huh? I too would be surprised a grenade launcher couldn't take out a witch. I jumped on late last week, and asked the new team to play something other than the first campaign, saying I had gone through Dead Center and nothing else, so they switched to Dark Carnival - and then in 20 minutes Miles, of Valve, jumped into the empty Coach position. Had we stayed in Dead Center he might not have jumped in. We were playing Advanced and finally finished it, but I told Miles later I'm sticking to normal on L4D2 until I thoroughly know the game.
Hey, anybody know if any of the melee weapons is more effective than any of the others. For example, the problem that I have with the melee weapons is getting used to the striking repetition - I am wondering for example if the Katana (spelling?) is more effective for example, than a frying pan - in other words, does it strike faster enabling more successful zombie defense?
This L4D2 has all these sections where you now have to turn off the alarm, so you are running and dealing with zombies. I am thinking that maybe a melee weapon works better than a gun - shottie or otherwise - in that scenario - what do you guys think?
Regarding the ending of Parish on Advanced - that must be crossing the bridge - never finished it - jumped in with teams playing it a couple times and found it quite challenging. Congratulations Sam!

The secret to the Parish finale is just to be as fast as you can. Never mind taking out every zombie coming at you, they aren't going to stop. Apart from the obligatory anti-Smoker/hunter/charger etc. saves, just leg it to the other side. Sadly, I got chargered on our attempt, so although we finished the campaign I didn't actually get the achievement for it. Not that it matters though, the achievement system for Valve games is almost always very buggy within the first couple of months of the games being released.

Sorry to hear about the charger - but I'll keep that in mind. Just RUN as fast as you can over that bridge.
Boozer, with the new xbox 360, you can play just about every new title out, isn't that right? What kind of a TV set do you have - oh, yeah, you have two big-screens at your house, right? Which one do you play on and what are the specs?
