rob,
Direct links work well. ;) I think the mobo you're getting is the P35-DS3R and NOT the P35C-DS3R, right? Anyway you might look at this before you push the "buy" button. ;) link
good luck,

cincyrob,
Looks like you've made some good choices. The MB is the P35, not the P35C. It's what I have and according to the link from the Mfg. it should be Rev. 2.1. I'm not a big fan (no pun intended) of fanless video cards, but that's up to you. If it was me with the choices available it would be this!
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130062
I have an XFX 7600GT and it's basically the same. Good card for your needs! At $64.99 with the MIR, about the same price!
I would pass on that 64 bit card it's only GDDR2, while the 7600GT above is 128 bit and GDDR3!
Best regards,
Russ

I don't know about you fellas in the UK but I still think the best way to go on an EXTERNAL DVDRW drive is buy a case and drive separately. ;)
That way you get an enclosure that you like and the drive you like and have it all for less than $60 if you shop right. :D

I spotted that one Pepp, and was considering it, but it's pricey and only uses IDE drives, not that that's a huge problem of course...

I'd be most accommodating except he doesn't like the stacker 830 evo.

seems like somebody else already stated something very similiar to this.

@GM - thats all well and good but Sams looking at a SATA DVDRW and enclosures for them are like rocking horse poop. Ive found one and only one and that cost about 60 bucks (£30).
PC World are selling a liteon external DVDRW at the moment for about the same price.
I actually have an internal ide Sony DVDRW in an enclosure sitting in the cupboard at the moment as the two internal ones I have are more than enough lol, think Ill put it in my old comp when I sell it and keep the enclosure.

@ sam - according to the product overview of that one it says :-
The device takes a Sata device (HDD, DVD, DVDRW) just slot into the bay and then connect via USB 2.0 or eSATA into your PC or Laptop.
so it takes SATA not IDE and is probably why its so expensive - it appears to be the only one out there lol

Yeh yeh, not trying to steal your thunder. I'm slow on the typing sometimes and I've been swapping back and forth on my KVM trying to get a little rig going. GOT the OS installed and about to add some "goodies" to it. ;) I'm prolly running 20-40 minutes behind you guys and your quick posting. hehehe...

81fps? Lol so if I told you I got 79fps and only 11,300 marks...
Pepp: Didn't even notice that. Now to question whether I can afford £60 for an external DVD drive... :S
