Ok I am trying to back up Matrix Revolution and decrypted it with DVD Decrypter. Then I go to burn it to disk with Nero 6.6.0.16 to a DVD+R DL and I get a Reallocation Error. I have tried to burn it as a UDF/ISO and now own two coasters. Is there a way to get nero to burn it or is there another program that works with ifo files better to burn?

yep, it's inside Nero Startsmart. Nero recode - remake dvd - import titles (and basically just add the one you'd already decrypted with dvd decrypter).

let's have some more details, ie LAST section of your Nero log which lives in c:\program files\ahead\nero\nerohistory.log but DO NOT post your serial number which usually begins with '1A21' or similar.

startsamrt - click applications (top left) - Nero recode

but if you still can't find Nero recode, then maybe your serial code doesn't allow you the application.

Ok another update. I can recode it to fit on a 4.7g SL disk but I want to keep full quality and use a DL disk at 8.5g So I think it has to do with one of the files in the un-shrunk stage?

you're missing the first part of that section of logfile. i need the part from here "====== *** NeroAPI, History File *** ======" to where you posted...

for now i think the biggest clue is this
Quote:
File size is not a multiple of a logical block size (2 KB)

DVD-Video files reallocation failed

DVD-Video files compliance ignored
- something isn't being done right at the ripping stage, ie prior to burning. Nero is simply complaining that the files are not compliant.

then why will it let me shrink it to a 4.7 disk and burn?

is this the part you need?

- 'fraid that's your main problem, the files are somehow not being created in 'dvd compliant' format. That's exactly why Nero is having a problem burning the actual movie. Something's not being done within Recode..

As I can see the problem is still there. I guess, I am having the same problem. But a history is a bit different. My Nero was working well with DVD Shrink. Then something happened. Now Shrink does the job, but I am having a message of "reallocation failed... and so on."
Is anybody have an idea what went wrong at some point and if it is a chance to fix it?
Thank you in advance,
Roma

@yromashin - the same advice apples to you re the compilance - you're doing something wrong in DVD Shrink which is producing files that are not dvd compliant..

Thanks for the update on the firmware creaky.

Ok one of the log files said that
#2 DVDREALLOC -22 File DVDVideoCompilation.cpp, Line 1211
File 'VTS_02_0.VOB' is not referenced and should not be present

so I deleted it then it would burn but my player can not read it, I guess it needs that file? it doesnt have anything in it. It shows VTS_02_0.VOB to have 0kb

i don't have/use Recode, however the guy that wrote DVD Shrink now works on Recode. Just had a thought after re-reading your original post. - have you tried using Decrypter to drag ALL files off the original DVD, then using Decrypter to burn ALL files (as is) to a dual layer disc (as no Recode work is necessary because ALL the files will fit on a Dual Layer disc). (All Decrypter needs to do is bypass the encryption, no 'shrinking' is necessary hence you don't need to use Recode for this at all). You could use Nero Burning Rom to do the burn but i suggested Decrypter for the burn as i keep reasding that Nero doesn't always handle the layer break very well.

I disagree. There is not too much to do wrong there. I have tried to check it out. I have used DVD Shrink and saved the folders to HD, then burned with Nero the movie without any problem. BUT it is a two-step instead of one and it is annoying to waste time.

@yromashin - no worries, your thread http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/244534 may well help johnnymk too...

edit - you may disagree as to how many steps are/aren't required/necessary, however when it comes to dvd compliance, i know for a fact that tthe files HAVE TO BE dvd-compliant. just clarifying that point..

yes after using DVD decrypter to rip it to a MDS/ISO then I used it to Burn it and it worked fine. no problems.

I dont know much on what is and not compliance but I have never had this problem before. Now I just started burning to DL disk and I am seeing the error pop up more on the net. If you have this movie I would ask you to Decrypt it and just try and start the steps to burn in with Nero to a DVD-9 and I bet you come up with this error. and you dont have to have a disk in to get to this error so you have nothing to lose.

Anyway Thanks a ton for your help I can now stop making coasters. =)

Ok I found out that there are disk out there that DO NOT MEET compliance or Nero standard and yes they are LEGAL. Matrix Revolutions being one of them. So if you are having a compliance issue more than likely you are burning a DL disk or your compression program is not removing those issues. PgcEdit will remove them and re-code your IFO file for you.
