hey ok i got my phone to finally fricken work i backed up my pictures my contacts i put new pics on....but then i tried putting small sections of mp3's on they went on wen i went to go listen on my phone, it says file corrupted delte "yes or no" it wont play them....how can i fix this

i suppose u have used the P2K to uplaod ur mp3 anyway open ur P2K go to a/mobile/audio and then delete two files that end with .db and restart ur fone then it will work,.,,,

about the corrupted files make sure of the size of the tone and make sure its small....

bring it back to cingular and they should give new one,,,,

Hey when i delete the files ending with DB and then i restart the phone it still dosent work but i also notice that the db file are back on the phone ive tried the process you described over nine time and still no winning results Help Please and thank you

delete the mp3 tone u upload it, restart ur fone, upload the mp3 tone on a/mobile/audio then delete the two files that end with .db restart ur fone, and let me know the results,,,,,

Im sorry but the results are the same is there a step im missing Any thing ? do i have to unlock my phone? thanks for the help but the db files keep coming back

HaHa glad to hear that...
the two .db files r always there even if u delete hem they will come up agian after restartig ur fone, so dont worru about it...

well download the P2Kman and inside the folder there is another folder called DRV which they r the driver for ur fone, install it when ur fone recognise by the computer and off u go :D

guys the MP3 problem i got figured out.....normal mp3's are usuall 4050 hz frequency you need to use just any sound editing software and save as the file and change the format to 2050 hz frequency then it works on your phone....if you dont change it...it doesnt play on your phone and it says file courrpupted

ok i have a v220 phone. first i downloaded the moblephone tools version 1.23c EN i have tried to download the update with the link on other posts (ftp:\\ftp2.bvrp.com/motorola ) and there is no update link does anyone have a good link for a update?

mossyy -- you seem to really know a lot about the v220 and its software.... PLEASE tell me... can I down load from the phone to my PC with that SW and cable? Or is it just giving me the ability to upload pictures from my PC to the phone?

On the Help>About, it says, "version 3.11h 08/27/2004 (040622003367) (3.00)" I got this version first. It seems as though people on here have said to d/l the 1st version and then update and then update again. But, it still doesn't work. Also, P2kman says that it doesn't work with win98se. What's a girl to do? Thanks in advance!

Although I have the phone tools installed on my computer I still cant manage to download this update that is suppose to make this thing work. Reason being all the sites that are listed including ftp:\\ftp2.bvrp.com/motorola either my access is denide or the page could not be displayed. Does anyone now how to get the "mobilePhoneTools_2.21b_US-exe" update since that is what I need to get my computer to interact with my phone. Thanks in advance

P2Kman it does work on Win98Se and u can use that, for taking pic from fone to the PC....

Thanks Mossy. I had MPT 2.1 installed on my computer but after seeing on the motorola website that 3.1 is used for my V220 phone I have gone ahead and installed that one instead. Im getting the same problem, which is that phone tools stays on Initializing.... forever. Let me know what I need to download in order to get this software to work because appearantly its being recognized by my laptop but not by the software. I have WinXP SP2 if that makes a difference. Thanks in advance.

Mossyy no, MPT 2.1 did not recognize the phone either. It reacts the same way as the v3.1. It stays on Initializing... and it does not move from there. When I try to transfer a media file it a window saying transfer in progress, immediately after another window pop up error with the audio format (keep in mind its an MP3 file im using) Is there anything I can do to make this work?
