I' am having trouble putting all my music files to my
30 GB IPOD...the box clearly says it can hold
7,500 songs but I' am able to download 678 songs using
27.8 GB and I am only left 2.2 GB of free space...
Am I downloading my music incorrectly?
can you guys please help me with this?
thanks,

What size are your music files?
I have 1500 songs on my 60 and have only used 5 gb. My music files are around 3 mb and that is quality at 128.

In otherwords, you should convert your music files to mp3 format, because if they are .wav files, they are going to take up a lot of space.
I recommend using blaze media pro if this is the cause of your problem.

I recently bought iPod 30GB and all of my music collection of almost 4000 songs were uploaded. Including some videos in mp4.
iPod's memory is now aprox. 50% full so
you see that it can hold 7500 songs.
The extension must be .mp3 for songs and .mp4 for videos.
Any other extension will not work.

Yes, looks OK.
First you must realise that iPod 30GB is not EXACTLY 30 GB.
Aprox. 1.5 GB is already in use so 30GB is aprox. 28.5 GB
I call that cheating from Apple, but you cannot do anything about that.

Yes, I understand all that but still...
If I buy 30GB then I want 30GB not 28.5 GB.
Don't get me wrong. I like my iPod very much even if I get 28.5 GB.
It still plenty of space.
