Hi I love to put data into my new Ipod, but recently I tried to upload a file larger than 2 gigabytes and there was a message that said that the file was too large?? My ipod is still half empty, so that is not the problem.

Am i doing something wrong or am i missing something?

You'll need to slip it into disk mode first.

Press and hold the 'menu' and 'middle' button until the apple logo appears. While the apple logo is showing, press & hold the 'play/pause' and 'middle button' at the same time to set it into disk mode. :)

A likely issue is the 2 gB limit on file sizes imposed by the FAT32 file system structure of the iPOD drive. Can the drive be reformatted NTFS (or an NTFS partition created within the drive) to overcome this limitation without impacting usability (I don't know the answer to this)

Thanks Lethal, but my ipod is already set into disk mode.

This is the message I get when I try to upload a large file (4gigs) into my ipod---->>>>>The disk in the destination drive is full. Insert a new this to continue.<<<<<----

Then I press Retry and this message comes up---->>>> Cannot copy (name of file): There is not enough free disk space. Delete one or more files to free disk space, and try again.<<<<<-----

Or maybe it's because of FAt32's limitation and there is no way to overcome it...like Skywards says.
