If you keep checking back they will eventually be pruining new accounts, torrentleech isn't so hot for finding the old stuff you want, but is very reliable and fast at downloading for the newer ones.

What does everyone think as I'm very impatient in getting a new PC, I can either buy a newish high end;

Pentium 4(3GHZ),
1GB DDR
140GB HDD or

AMD Sempron 3000+(3ghz),
512KB DDR and install another 1GB DDR,
80GB HDD now or

I can save up a week or so and get;

AMD Athlon XP 3700+(3.7ghz),
2GB DDR,
160GB HDD

Or save up a month and get;

AMD Athlon X2(Dual core) 3.7GHZ each so 7.4GHZ,
1GB DDR,
250 GB HDD.

PS I have considered the buid it yourself option however the basic parts needed ie. Motherboard, processor, heat sink fan, Hardrive, RAM/DDR, PC case, Power supply, DVD Rewriter. graphics card, network card and floppy Drive actually cost more than the specs you can actually buy, unless someone has an extremely cheap PC componements supplier that I could acqure.

I am tempted to go for one of the latter two but will need to sell approx *** more **** to afford the dual core which I can do in a month. (Not filled in asterix's as I don't want pepes being nosey)

PS Tokijin I have joined the 'solder up yor own console club' with my XBOX that one of my m8s gave me for free as it didn't work, guess what, it does now!!

F*ck that, there aint no way Vista's coming within 100 yards of my PC, if need be and XP isn't possible by any means I'll do the dirty and transfer over to Linux, rather have that than Shitsa anyday,

Next game? It'll be either Fable Lost Chapters, The Godfather, Fight Night Round Three or Driver Parrallel lines.

PS Has anyone played XBOX 360 Call of Duty 2 online, just been down to one of my m8s for a week and hell, its just so damn realistic!

as Im gonna have to fork out on a new TFT monitor, a plextor and a T&L graphics card.

Paul1085: That's actually a pretty good deal considering it's only £359.99. You're absolutely right about saving up for a true PCI-E T&L Graphics card. In all technicalities the person marketing it as a Gaming PC out've the box should be smacked, because that integrated 6100 is no gaming card. ;P But never fear, for it comes with a PCI-Express x16 port!

The PC in general is a great starter set for a gamer on a budget. The only other thing to note is that with all the advances in motherboard technology, even the highest-end onboard audio lowers performance in games a bit. So you might want to look into a soundcard too eventually.

Edit: I like that they give a 12 Month Hardware Warranty too. Seem's like a good ebayer. Oh and don't forget you need a copy of your favorite OS too. Good luck and happy computing!

That one thread is retarded. I especially like the part about Memorex works me, so that's not the problem. He can't get FFXII to boot because of el cheapo media. I've put in my two cents worth. Let's see random retard X starts a flame war. Suikoden V has been up to TL btw, if anyone's interested.

What happened with the series. They release FF 11 (I am not using any roman numerals, That annoys me) an MMO and then decide that the whole going in a differnet direction thing wasn't working and work on just another average RPG? If you ask me the developers are just going to rely on the franchise name and make a crappy game that will still sell.

Yeah I've bashed recent FF releases as much as anyone in this thread. I must admit, the opening cinema for FFXII Jap is awesome. You get the crystal theme (favorite piece of VG music anywhere, ever), and you know resilient battle theme (at the end of FFIV when fighting Zeromus, or the ending FFV for example). The music is still great, and the FMV is jaw dropping. The game may not be great (might be, time will tell), but it's worth downloading just to check the opening movie. Nobuo Uematsu is a genius, I still love the FF music.

They kept the Crystal Theme for FFXII!? Is it in the opening or the "Demo" (the little pre-menu loop movie/credits)? I'd check it out by my PS2 is enroute.

I remember when I first popped FFVII into my newly acquired PSX back in the day... After the PSX logo faded, and the Pre-Credit Demo rolled, I almost teared up at the sound of the Crystal Theme. I hadn't heard it in such a long time cause I never owned a SNES and I only had FF1 for my NES. I got all warm and nostalgic inside after hearing that; I was so happy they kept the song through 7 iterations.

Indeed Uematsu is a musical genius, his is really the only VG music I listen to on a regular basis. And on some nights that I find it hard to sleep, or I'm feeling stessed, I pop in a FF soundtrack. I know it's kinda geeky but it works for me, it's like magic.

So I'll be a little more hopeful then before, now knowing it has the Crystal Theme. As much as I bash the newer FF's, I know I won't be able to resist atleast checking FFXII out.

Eh I listen to a lot of geeky stuff like music from anime, video games, R&B, etc. I like rock and rap, but too much of either leaves me angry and tired of bitch this, hoe that. Yeah download FFXII Jap when you get a chance, the intro is sweet. I can hum the Crystal Theme and the other one (damn, I wish could remember what it's called, you'll know it when you hear it) to perfection. Good music is important to anime/RPG. I love RahXephon, I still get a little emotional when I here music from certain parts of the series. The same goes for Xenogears, when I hear Graf's theme, or the ending theme "Broken Mirror." If that and my total lack of communication with the outside world makes me a nerd, then so be it, I'll nerd it up with the best of em.

I still think what makes a good FF is the main character. So far i think all the great ones are great cuz the main character is bad ass and isnt a lil bitch like the weak FF. Im also sick of the old school medevil style like it has been since FF9. Its time to change it up i think. But so far from playing the demo 12 is alright. I would dl the Jap one but then i wouldnt understand the storyline so ill just wait til it comes out.

Tokijin: Yeah, few games still instill emotional response for me today. I'm not a true audiophile, but I believe a great soundtrack is just as important (or even more-so) then graphics sometimes. Some other songs to boot are the Dragon Warrior(Quest) theme and Cid Highwind's theme. Highwind's theme is just so bold and adventurous that it makes me feel the sameway.

Speaking of Grahf, that reminded me of a funny scenario. Now we all know not everyone likes games equally, but everytime I say Xenogears is my favorite story/RPG, two of my closest friends always counter "Bro, you might as well be reading a book." or "And WTF!? Grahf's face is a friggin' puzzle!" While I understand where they're coming from, it still doesn't change my thoughts on the game, and Grahf's face isn't TOO much of a puzzle... >_>

Which brings me to something CrisKhan said (WARNING: Typical TMACRANT): I haven't made any major connections to characters in the FF series for a long time, like I used to in the olden days. Now I'm all for B.A.'ness, but they don't even need to be a true B.A., as very few games have this type of main character. I'm just sick of these companies trying to boost sales by making the games accessible to insanely obsessive fangirls. They keep making the main character these wimpified bishie's who look like they'd be chillin' with Prince if they existed in this world. I even hate how they changed Cloud's design to comply with their new "Make them super bishounen nowz!1!11one!" tactic. I know Cloud was never a rugged B.A., but the new Advent Children design makes him look ridiculous. I swore he was wearing eyeliner and mascara at some points. His original Kingdom Hearts anime infused design was really cool, but now if you look at KHII, it's the AC design. I mean if you look at Rufus from AC, he's kinda Bishounen, but he still maintains a level of B.A.'ness, so he's cool for EVERYONE. In Tales of Symphonia there's a character named Zelos, and he's about as bishounen pretty-boy as it gets. But I have no problem with him, in fact he's 20x more B.A. then Tidus and the like. He may be a Bishounen, but his personality was that of a womanizing playboy, which made him comical enough to deal with. Plus, if you make him the character on-screen and talk to female NPCs they give you items!

I'm not persecuting ANY female gamer out there, and I agree they should get eye candy too...But please don't screw with the games.

Edit: This'll be a one and only notice as I don't like to promote or bump, but since Tokijin mentioned Rahxephon and paul1085 just finished watching DBZ... If anyone ever wants to talk about or list their favorite anime's I started a thread in All Other Topics to do so. (Gotta' dig for it, it sank faster then a lead zeppelin!)

Heh, i cant say much about videogame music, i do have a few soundtracks though, just for Nostalgia lol. I personally feel all nostalgic whenever i hear One Winged Angel, reminds me of all that trouble i went thru to beat Sephiroth in Kingdom Hearts, and that lucky night whee i beat both him and Phantom consecutively. That was fun.

Recent FF main characters arent that bad. Originally, Cloud was pretty good, and Squall kicked a load of ass with his "Whatever..." quote. Zidane wasnt that cool, and his dilemmas didnt really seem that big compared to the other twos. Tidus was fine, he was just a guy that was in a woeld he knew nothing about. Maybe thats why he sounded whiny at times, his voice acting wasnt bad though. I cant really tell how Vaan's going to be. I think if they had an older FF Main Hero it would be better.

I still need to contact Torrentleech. Anyone know an email address or something, i just really wanna know why i was IP banned for no reason and without any warning. Username was Ash78. Later.

Ash

Edit: lol TMACRPG, are there really that many people who look to Video Games for eye candy? A little sad i think...

Ive been Un-IP banned from Torrentleech it seems, now i just need to know why my account was disabled. Any help would be appreciated.

Yeah I finished downloading Suikoden V while I was sleeping. I'm in my school library now, so I haven't had a chance to burn it. Got three more hours of boring ass class, then I'll check it out. I started a new game in Tales of Legendia. I only got about 2 hours in. I really like it so far. I'm biased toward the Tales Series, so I'm almost certainly going to like it, even if it's not stellar. I think it will be. See I don't like bad asses at all. People in real life aren't bad asses. They have complex underlying struggles that make up their psyche and pervade everyday life. Is there a God? How I am going to pay the bills this month? What is my purpose here? These are questions we've all asked ourselves at some point. Squall from FFVIII is a prime example. On the surface, he's a badass. Underneath he has a wellspring of emotions trying to force their way out. His feelings for Rinoa and his comrades finally enable him to express those feelings and realize his true power is to protect, not to destroy. This may be corny and cliched, but I don't like a badass, because they're not human. If you want a badass go see a Steven Seagal or Van Dame flick. If you want heart wrenching realism, believeable characters, and fantastic stories, play a classic RPG like Xenogears, FFVII, FFVIII, and the Lunar or Crono series.

I do admit that I actually like BA characters, but I also said that I don't necessarilly want all main characters to be BA. That would lead to tedium and get boring fast.

My main rant was on the trend to make the characters bishounen and super feminine. Ever since Zidane Space-Monkey Extraordinaire has it been getting progressively worse. Now you look at Vaan and he strangely resembles Michael Jackson a bit, which is kinda disturbing. He's very-very effeminate and I fear he's going to be another immature grating personality.

I don't judge BA'ness by purely conventional means, as in Kick-Butt and Take Names later attitude. Rather I judge it based on how a character is able to handle themselves in varying situations. More or less their Inner Strength. I lose a large amount of respect when people cave in when the going gets tough and immediately fall into teary eye'd "boo-hoo, why me" spell. Maybe I'm just cold-hearted and hard-headed but I've always hated melodrama. Whining and crying will get you nowhere, let your actions speak for themself and better your situation through them. That's why I liked Fei from Xenogears, with all the crap that he had to go through, he kept himself together relatively well. Sure he broke down on some occasions, but it's expected. I never liked Tidus because his character was way too immature and childish for me; especially for whatever age he was supposed to represent. To me he was a weak person, but I guess part of the story was to show his emotional growth?

I actually connected with Squall alot, maybe to the point that it was the reason I stopped playing FFVIII a bit. He gave insight on how I looked and acted during a certain period of my life.

I know not everyone or every character can act the way I do, that'd also be very boring. But I just hope that in this next FF they'll act and handle themselves with more class and inner-strength. Plus, I play a game to escape reality, if I wanted true-to-life drama I'd step outside and see all the nonsense that goes on in this world.

And when I say modern FF's I mean FFX+. I group all PSX FF's as older now since PS2 is almost gone through it's cycle. I think I'm just getting too cynical, and because I had so much love towards FF I'm overly sensitive to how they're made. I should probably just wipe my mind clean and have no prior recollection of FF and pretend like I'm playing the series for the first time.

About ToL, I have a predisposition to favor the Tales games too, and I loved the ToL. It's fun and that's all that mattered!

Sorry about all the rants and whatnot. =X

Oh and BTW: I actually find Seagal and Van Damme movies to be really corny, especially the former. XD

I never liked segal movies cuz he always finds a way to pull off his ikeido moves perfectly which is so fake cuz if i had a gun i would waste his ass and not let him come close to break my fingers...

Van Dam movies are tight tho i like him he actually has athletic abilities. But no one compares to Tony Jaa my Thai homie, i guess he can be considered as next gen in martial art movies just like next gen consoles.

But yea when i meant bad ass i dont mean beat up ppl and slash them all to hell for no reason types i meant like characters with sourt of a cool and sav attitude. Like how Cloud is usually quiet and laid back but when it comes to fighting he goes all out. Its just like Onizuka from GTO, how he is all chill and silly but when time to be serious he doesnt fu** around. Kinda like the time when he arm wrestles a 100 ppl instead of fighting them all which i thought was more bad ass than anything iv ever seen.

Gotta love those GTO references. That guy's a genius, we just all wish we could pull something like that off lol. I do like some Van Dame movies, but if you ever want a good laugh look over the scripts for some Seagal and Van Dame movies. You'll swear crack addicted animals at the zoo wrote them. I dunno if FFXII will be any good, the intro is cool, that's all I'm willing to concede so far. I hope it's good. There's plenty of non FF games to play in the mean time. Anybody else got Suikoden V? I'm going to burn it in a bit. Gotta download GodFather as soon as my Seed Ratio for TL is 1:1.

Hurray! Fellow GTO watchers/readers! If only school was actually like the Jr. High in GTO...

I can't say much about Suikoden V, but I can say The Godfather Game is pretty good. I actually bought the L.E., but more for the collectors value. I kinda feel that EA with all their money could've made a better game, but it's fun enough and it's great for anyone who loved the movies!

Just got done watching the season premiere of South Park. It's funny as hell if you're a sicko like me. Anyway, I burned Suikden V to my beloved Yuden000T02 (TY 8x DVD+R's) and here's the Nero quality score. I was a little concerend, because I've a had scores of 91, 94, and 95 in the last week (silly). Anything above 90 should play flawlessly. Congrats getting a Matrix Infinity TMACRPG, I never mentioned that before. It's a super reliable chip, I have zero complaints about mine. I love it. I hope you have as much success with yours as I've had with mine. I do love modchips. Cheers!

VII was the best of the series and will never be beat and you can take that to the bank 1. It was the most popular. 2. It sold the most.
